Bharathiar School of Management and Entrepreneur Development (BSMED)

BSMED is Coimbatore’s public-university floor: Bharathiar University’s own management school, running since 1984, recognised by the UGC as a Centre for Excellence three years later, and still admitting the way a state school should — every one of its 120 seats through Tamil Nadu’s centralised MBA counselling on TANCET marks. Nothing about it is for sale, and that is the point of this profile.

What should an applicant plan for?

One exam, one system. TANCET in February, then the Tamil Nadu MBA online counselling where BSMED sits in the university-department layer; the school’s joining instructions for the 2026 counselling were updated as recently as 12 August 2026. The degree is a two-year full-time MBA with five specialisations — General Management, HR, Marketing, Finance and Systems — across a 60-aided plus 60-self-supportive seat matrix.

Two honest caveats complete the picture.
