The straight answer about how we work
We counsel on WhatsApp and calls from day one. We do not run a walk-in office in Chennai, and you do not need one: a genuine admission is confirmed at the college, on the college's own receipt, never at a consultant's desk. If anyone in Chennai asks you to hand over cash at an office to "block a seat", that is the exact behaviour to walk away from.
How admission season actually works in Chennai
Chennai runs on three honest tracks, and knowing which one your target college sits on saves you from every agent story in the city.
Track one: university merit and own-test admission. SRM’s official Management stream under Admission India (srmist.edu.in/admission-india/management) splits cleanly in two: MBA programmes are entrance-based, through a national-level test conducted by SRM or an authorised agency, while BBA (Honours) and BBA Fintech are non-entrance programmes admitted “purely on a merit basis” on 10+2 marks, with a 50% aggregate as the published floor. That covers the Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani campuses. VIT Chennai runs a similar merit-plus-interview process for BBA on its own site.
Track two: the consortium route for management-quota seats. Tamil Nadu is one of the few states where management-quota PG admission has a published, state-monitored process. The Consortium of Self-Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges in Tamilnadu (tnsfconsortium.org) runs a Common Entrance Test for MBA, MCA, ME, M.Tech and M.Arch seats under the management quota, and its 2026 test brochure and exam-centre notices are live, operating under the state admissions committee’s proceedings of 23 June 2026. If someone offers you a Chennai MBA management seat with no CET and no receipt, that is not this route. It is not any route.
Track three: exam-flex PGDM. Great Lakes Institute of Management accepts three different exams for its PGDM intake: GMAT taken on or after 1 January 2024, CAT 2025/2026, or XAT 2026/2027, with a 60% record across Class 10, 12 and graduation, applied across four dated admission cycles (greatlakes.edu.in/chennai/pgdm/admissions). The flexibility is in which exam you bring, never in whether you bring one: Great Lakes states the score cannot be waived.
What fees look like here
We do not print a fee we could not verify today, so here is where the real numbers live. SRM publishes programme fees on srmist.edu.in at application time. Great Lakes publishes PGDM and PGPM fees on its own admissions pages. Anna University posts campus-wise fee structure PDFs on annauniv.edu. For what management-quota pricing looks like nationally, and where the line between a legal fee and capitation sits, read our verified guides: BBA management quota fees and MBA management quota fees, or start with is management quota legal in India.
What we will not do
We will not take cash to “block” a seat, in Chennai or anywhere, because seat-blocking money is the oldest fraud in this market. We will not invent a quota at IIT Madras or Anna University, where none exists and every seat is merit-counselled. And we will not pressure you with tonight-only deadlines: a genuine college deadline is printed on the college’s own website, and we will simply show it to you there.
Colleges in Chennai we advise on
How it works
- Tell us your marks and budget on WhatsApp. A counsellor replies personally; there is no form-and-forget.
- Get the honest map. Which Chennai colleges you can actually get, by which route, at the published fee, with the source for every number.
- We handle the process. Applications, documents, deadlines, and direct introductions where we work with the institution.
- You pay the college directly. Every rupee of fee goes to the institution against its own receipt. We never handle seat money, and nobody can promise a seat before the college confirms it.
Colleges in Chennai where "direct admission" claims are false
Agents sell seats at these institutions anyway. Here is the official position, so you can spot the lie early:
- IIT Madras: Every BTech seat is allotted on JEE (Advanced) rank through JoSAA, the Ministry of Education's joint seat allocation for the 23 IITs (josaa.nic.in). There is no management quota and no paid side entry, so any 'direct IIT Madras admission' offer is a fraud from the first sentence. Read the full verified answer.
- Anna University campuses (CEG, MIT, ACT, SAP): BE/BTech seats at the university's own Chennai campuses are filled through TNEA, the Directorate of Technical Education's single-window online counselling, in rank order of Class 12 marks (tneaonline.org). The only other published categories are the university's own NRI and other-state routes listed on annauniv.edu, not anything an agent can sell. Read the full verified answer.
Questions families in Chennai ask us
Is management quota legal in Chennai?
Yes, where the process is published and regulated. Tamil Nadu's self-financing colleges fill management-quota PG seats (MBA, MCA, ME) through a Common Entrance Test run by the Consortium of Self-Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges (tnsfconsortium.org), under the state's admission monitoring committee. What is never legal is capitation, meaning any payment beyond the sanctioned fee. A quota seat still has an entrance test, a merit process and a college receipt.
What do you charge?
The first conversation is free, and we quote our counselling fee in writing before you commit to anything. What we never do is handle seat money: every rupee of college fee goes from you to the college directly, against the college's own receipt. If any consultant asks you to route tuition or a 'blocking amount' through them, walk away.
Do I need to visit an office in Chennai?
No. We are remote by design and say so plainly: counselling happens on WhatsApp and calls, and documents move digitally. The only place you ever need to physically show up is the college itself, for verification or admission formalities. A genuine admission is confirmed at the college, never at a consultant's desk.
Can you guarantee me a seat?
No, and neither can anyone else. Colleges confirm admissions, consultants do not. What we can do is tell you honestly which Chennai colleges your marks and budget can actually get, by which published route, and then run that process properly. Anyone who guarantees a seat before the college issues an offer letter is selling you a risk, not a seat.
What colleges in Chennai do you cover?
For BBA and MBA: SRM (Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani campuses), Great Lakes Institute of Management, VIT Chennai and the city's self-financing B-schools that admit through the Tamil Nadu consortium route. We also tell you where we cannot help: IIT Madras and Anna University's own campuses run purely on national and state merit counselling, and no consultant changes that.
When is it too late to start for this year?
Later than most families think, but not indefinitely. SRM's merit-based BBA applications and consortium CET rounds for MBA typically run through the summer, and several private universities admit into July. Great Lakes is the opposite case: its PGDM application cycles for the next intake close between December and March, so late means early there. Message us with your marks and we will tell you what is genuinely still open today, including 'nothing worth joining' if that is the truth.
