The short answer

As of August 2026, KIIT School of Management's residential MBA admits on CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT or KIITEE scores followed by GD, PI and WAT, asking 50% in graduation and both board exams. The 2026-28 all-inclusive fee is Rs 18,00,620; the official page lists an average salary of Rs 9.5 lakh for 2025-26.

Selection process

  1. Take any national MBA entrance test — CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT or GMAT — or KIIT's own KIITEE Management / KIITEE (the 2026 editions fed MBA 2026 admission). Foreign and NRI candidates apply on GMAT scores with a US $50 application fee.
  2. Shortlisting on the entrance score leads to Group Discussion, Personal Interview and a Writing Ability Test, conducted at New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar.
  3. The final selection weighs the GD and PI, the WAT, career marks and the entrance score; selected candidates receive an admission offer letter and confirm through an acceptance letter and the stipulated fee payment.
  4. Eligibility is checked twice — 50% aggregate in graduation and 50% in each of the 10th and 12th board examinations — with final-year degree candidates required to finish all requirements by 30 June 2026 and submit documents by 30 September 2026.

MBA total fee, 2026-28 batch (all-inclusive) Rs 18,00,620 for the two-year residential programme — covering tuition, admission and administration, development fee, AC hostel, mess, laundry, co- and extra-curricular fees, books and materials, and a laptop; payable as a Rs 1,00,000 one-time admission component plus four instalments of Rs 4,25,155 2026-28 batch, per the official course-fee page KSOM MBA Course Fees and Scholarship (official) ↗ checked 26 Aug 2026

Is there a management quota here?

No management quota is published. KSOM's admission runs on a published test score — any of five national exams or KIIT's own KIITEE Management — followed by GD, PI and WAT, with eligibility gates at graduation and board-exam level. Foreign and NRI candidates have a defined GMAT-based route with a US $50 application fee, which is a published category, not a cash seat. The official pages describe no donation or institute-level route; an offer of one should be checked with the school directly.

KIIT School of Management — the business school of the KIIT deemed-to-be university — is Bhubaneswar’s all-inclusive residential option: one published fee that bundles tuition, AC hostel, mess, laundry, books and even a laptop, the city’s joint-widest entrance-exam menu, and a scholarship table that can cut tuition in half for strong test scores.

How does selection actually run?

Six doors in: CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, GMAT, or KIIT’s own KIITEE Management — so a candidate with only a MAT score, or with no national score at all, still has a legitimate route. Shortlists are drawn from the entrance score, and the evaluation stage is a Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Writing Ability Test held at New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Jamshedpur and Bhubaneswar. The final selection weighs the GD and PI, the WAT, career marks and the entrance score, and closes with a formal offer and acceptance letter.

Two filters deserve attention before the application fee: KSOM asks 50% in graduation and 50% in each of the 10th and 12th boards — an academic-consistency bar most of the city does not publish — and final-year candidates must finish the degree by 30 June 2026 with documents by 30 September 2026.

What does it cost, and what does it return?

The official 2026-28 fee page prints Rs 18,00,620 for the whole two years — tuition, administration, development fee, AC hostel, mess, laundry, activity fees, books, materials and a laptop, in a Rs 1,00,000 plus 4 × Rs 4,25,155 schedule. There is no separate hostel bill to discover later. The scholarship table cuts tuition by 50% for the top 5 KIITEE Management scorers, for CAT/XAT scores at or above the 80th percentile, and for MAT at or above the 95th percentile.

The official placement-statistics page records for 2025-26 a highest international salary of Rs 23.00 lakh, highest domestic of Rs 35.00 lakh and an average of Rs 9.50 lakh — and states that all eligible students with an acceptable CGPA secure placement.

Where does KSOM fit in a Bhubaneswar shortlist?

As the predictable-total-cost option with the widest exam door. It costs more than Birla Global University (Rs 18 lakh all-inclusive against Rs 11 lakh plus housing) and less than XIM University’s about-Rs-25.8-lakh stack, and unlike both it asks after your 10th and 12th marks. For a candidate whose strength is consistency rather than a single peak percentile — or who needs the MAT/KIITEE door — it is often the right middle rung, mapped beside the others in our Bhubaneswar city guide.

How Udaan helps with KSOM

We run the scholarship arithmetic first — an 80-percentile CAT or XAT score halves the tuition line on a published rule, which changes what this MBA costs your family — then sequence KIITEE Management as insurance if your national-test calendar went badly. And because the fee is all-inclusive and published, any quote you receive that differs from Rs 18,00,620 is a question to ask the school, not a bill to pay.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Which entrance exams does KSOM accept for the MBA?
CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT and GMAT — or KIIT's own KIITEE Management / KIITEE if you sat none of those. Shortlisted candidates then face Group Discussion, Personal Interview and a Writing Ability Test at six centres including Bhubaneswar. That exam menu is the widest in the city alongside BGU's.
What is the KSOM MBA fee for 2026-28?
Rs 18,00,620 in total, per the official fee page (accessed 26 August 2026) — and it is genuinely all-inclusive: tuition, admission and administration, development fee, AC hostel, mess, laundry, activity fees, books and materials, and a laptop. The schedule is a Rs 1,00,000 one-time admission component followed by four instalments of Rs 4,25,155.
Is there a management quota at KSOM?
None is published. Admission runs on a valid entrance score (five national tests or KIITEE Management) plus GD, PI and WAT, with 50% gates at graduation and board level. Foreign and NRI candidates apply on GMAT with a US $50 fee — a published category with its own rules, not a donation seat. No management or institute-level cash route appears in the official documents.
What scholarships does KSOM offer for the MBA?
Three published 50% tuition-waiver lanes: the top 5 scorers of KIITEE Management Entrance Test 2026; candidates at 80 percentile or above in CAT or XAT (centre-based examination); and candidates at 95 percentile or above in the December 2025 or February 2026 MAT. On the published fee, that waiver is worth roughly Rs 4.85 lakh of tuition.
What are KSOM's placement figures?
Per the official placement-statistics page: for 2025-26, highest international salary Rs 23.00 lakh, highest domestic Rs 35.00 lakh and average Rs 9.50 lakh; for 2024-25, Rs 18.00 lakh international, Rs 20.00 lakh domestic and Rs 9.00 lakh average. The school states that all eligible students with an acceptable CGPA secure placement, with the average placement over the last couple of years close to 100%.
Does KSOM really check 10th and 12th marks?
Yes — the published eligibility requires at least 50% aggregate in graduation and at least 50% in each of the 10th and 12th board examinations. That is a harder academic-consistency filter than most Bhubaneswar options and worth checking before you pay the application fee.
