One of the oldest medical colleges in Mumbai, opened in 1921 as the National Medical College during the Non-Cooperation Movement. The municipal corporation took over the college and hospital in 1946, and it is attached to the BYL Nair Charitable Hospital. Its yearly MBBS intake is 150 seats.
