The short answer
In August 2026, the MBA admission cycle moved on four published facts: NMIMS opened its application window on 20 August with AY 2026-27 fees finally printed; the NMAT exam window itself is still 'coming soon'; KMAT registration closes 31 August; and OJEE published round-3 MBA allotments. MICA's next MICAT schedule is not out yet.

What should you do now?
- Applying to NMIMS this cycle? Register on the NMIMS portal before your NMAT exam date and complete the application by 10 October 2026; the published application charge is Rs 3,000.
- If the Karnataka management-seat route is in your plan, finish KMAT registration before 31 August 2026 — the exam is home-proctored and open to candidates from outside Karnataka.
- Allotted a seat in OJEE round 3? Complete the document upload and seat-acceptance payment exactly per the portal notice — the portal warns that missing the payment deadline cancels the provisional allotment.
- Waiting on the NMAT exam window, MICAT's 2027-intake dates or the TG ICET spot rules? Do not act on rumour dates; we re-check the official pages daily and will post the hour any of them moves.
August is the month the 2026-27 MBA cycle stops being abstract: the early application windows open while the last state counsellings of the previous cycle close out. This digest is the month’s verified movement in one place — every line opened on an official page today, 22 August 2026.
The biggest shift is NMIMS. The NMAT 2026 admission handout is live, the application window runs 20 August to 10 October 2026, the application charge moved to Rs 3,000, and per-annum fees for AY 2026-27 are finally printed for every campus — which ends the fee-guessing season for the single most-asked school on our list. The one thing the cycle still owes applicants is the NMAT exam window itself: the official page says “coming soon”, so our tracker keeps that row at ‘expected’ rather than inventing a date.
At the other end of the calendar, KMAT Karnataka registration closes on 31 August — the last door into the management-seat layer of Karnataka’s affiliated colleges this cycle — and Odisha’s OJEE published its round-3 MBA allotments, with the Special OJEE results out for the leftover-seat layer. Two watches stay open: MICA has not posted its 2027-intake MICAT schedule (the site is still on the 2026 cycle), and Telangana’s TG ICET spot-admission guidelines are still awaited, with our next official re-check on 24 August.
