Last updated 6 September 2026 · Reviewed by Piyush Agarwal · Latest change: Full typed-format upgrade from the institute's official pages opened today — selection procedure (50/10/30/10), important dates (full SNAP 2026 cycle to June 2027), fee structure (Rs 8.5 lakh academic fee, instalments, NRI table) and the fee page's printed Discretionary Quota rule. Corrects this profile's earlier flat 'no quota' line: the institute's own fee page prints the discretionary route, now documented here exactly as at SIBM Bengaluru

The short answer

As of September 2026, SIBM Hyderabad admits its MBA through SNAP alone on a printed 50/10/30/10 merit formula, with institute registration open until 15 January 2027 and an academic fee of Rs 8,50,000 a year. Its fee page also prints a small Discretionary Quota at double the open-category fee — the second Symbiosis campus where we have found this route in writing.

Selection process

  1. Hold a bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST); final-year students may apply, with admission subject to the same minimum at the qualifying examination.
  2. Register and pay for SNAP 2026 (Rs 2,550 per test) by 25 November 2026, and separately register for SIBM Hyderabad's MBA (Rs 1,000); institute registration closes 15 January 2027.
  3. Sit SNAP on 13, 19 or 26 December 2026; the result is scheduled for 12 January 2027.
  4. Shortlists are declared on 22 January 2027, with GE-PI slot booking from 22-25 January; the Group Exercise and Personal Interaction rounds run 12-14 and 18-21 February 2027 at the institute.
  5. The final merit list follows the printed formula — SNAP score (out of 60) scaled to 50, Group Exercise 10, Personal Interaction 30, Written Ability Test 10, total 100; the first merit list is declared 1 March 2027 with fees due by 31 March 2027, and the programme commences 7 June 2027.

Is there a management quota here?

Yes — printed on the institute's own fee page, exactly as at its Bengaluru sibling. SIBM Hyderabad's official fee structure states that a few seats are reserved as Discretionary Quota Seats, that only students with a good academic record and good entrance test scores are considered, and that the fee is double the open-category academic fee as approved by the Fee Structure Committee, paid to the institute by online transfer or demand draft — and that once admitted through it, the student pays the Discretionary Quota fee for the entire programme. The same footnote adds that no donation or capitation fee is charged for admission to any SIU programme, and the site carries the university's caution notice: strictly merit, no authorised agents, permanent debarment for agent-routed candidates. This profile previously carried a flat 'no quota' line; the institute's own fee page is more precise, and this page now matches it.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Hyderabad is now the second Symbiosis campus where the institute’s own fee page prints a Discretionary Quota — the same sentence structure we documented at SIBM Bengaluru a day earlier: a few reserved seats, good academic record and good entrance scores required, double the open-category academic fee approved by the Fee Structure Committee, paid to the institute by online transfer or demand draft, for the entire duration of the programme. One campus printing it could be an anomaly. Two campuses printing it, word for word, is a system — and it is the clearest documented picture of what a lawful institute-level route looks like at a deemed university: published eligibility, committee pricing, traceable payment to the institution, next to a caution notice that no agent is authorised and no capitation is charged.

What should an applicant plan for?

One test runs this campus: SNAP. The machine is printed in full — registration by 25 November 2026 (Rs 2,550 per test) plus a separate Rs 1,000 institute registration closing 15 January 2027, the three December sittings, results on 12 January 2027, shortlists on 22 January, GE-PI rounds in February, the first merit list on 1 March 2027 with fees due inside the month, and classes from 7 June 2027. The merit formula gives SNAP half the weight and the post-test rounds the other half: 50/10/30/10 across SNAP, Group Exercise, Personal Interaction and WAT. The bar is a 50% graduation aggregate (45% for SC/ST), the programme is fully residential on the Ranga Reddy-district campus, and the degree is awarded by Symbiosis International (Deemed University), Pune.

The money is the second-cheapest verified Symbiosis MBA on this site: Rs 8,50,000 a year in academic fees — about Rs 17 lakh across the degree — plus roughly Rs 3.15 lakh a year for three-sharing hostel and mess, against Bengaluru’s Rs 10.7 lakh academic fee. SIU’s scholarship layer sits on top: semester-topper concessions of 20/15/10/5%, and a 20% two-year waiver for up to five IIT graduates. One honest gap: no consolidated, dated salary table appears on the institute’s public pages as of this verification pass, so this profile carries no placement figures — ask for the current audited report and read it with our placement-report guide. The Hyderabad city guide keeps SIBM-H beside the city’s other verified doors, and the SNAP 2026 guide tracks the exam itself.

Questions, answered

Does SIBM Hyderabad accept CAT, XAT, CMAT or MAT for its MBA?
No. The official selection-procedure page names one test: SNAP 2026. Admission is the SNAP score plus the institute's Group Exercise, Personal Interaction and Written Ability Test, weighted 50, 10, 30 and 10 out of 100. If you are writing only CAT, SIBM Hyderabad is not on your list — every Symbiosis MBA campus works this SNAP-only way.
What is the total cost of the SIBM Hyderabad MBA?
Per the official fee page opened on 6 September 2026: academic fees of Rs 8,50,000 a year (about Rs 17 lakh over two years) plus a Rs 20,000 refundable institute deposit, with three-sharing hostel at Rs 1,71,300 and mess at Rs 1,44,200 a year on the residential campus. Budget roughly Rs 23.5 lakh all-in before personal expenses, keeping the page's own caveat that hostel and mess fees can rise up to 10% a year.
Is there really a management or discretionary quota at SIBM Hyderabad?
The institute's own fee page says a few seats are reserved as Discretionary Quota Seats, considered only for students with a good academic record and good entrance test scores, at double the open-category academic fee approved by the Fee Structure Committee and paid to the institute directly — for the whole programme once taken. So the honest answer is: a small, published, institute-run discretionary route exists with its rules in print, while the university states in the same breath that no agent is authorised and no capitation fee is charged. A consultant quoting a different figure or asking for cash is not describing this route.
What are the SIBM Hyderabad admission dates for the 2027 batch?
From the institute's important-dates page: SNAP registration closes 25 November 2026, the three SNAP sittings are 13, 19 and 26 December 2026, results land 12 January 2027, institute registration closes 15 January 2027, shortlists come on 22 January, GE-PI rounds run 12-14 and 18-21 February 2027, the first merit list is declared 1 March 2027 with fees due 31 March, and the programme commences 7 June 2027. The institute marks all of these tentative.
How is SIBM Hyderabad different from SIBM Bengaluru?
Same university, same SNAP-only design, same printed Discretionary Quota wording — the verified differences are price and scale. Hyderabad prints Rs 8,50,000 a year against Bengaluru's Rs 10,70,000, a 50/10/30/10 formula against Bengaluru's 50/10/40, and publishes its GE-PI dates out to February 2027. Both campuses' fee pages print the discretionary route; both carry the university's no-agent, no-capitation caution.
