MBA Colleges in Hyderabad With Direct Admission 2026: Verified Routes & Fees

Hyderabad’s serious MBA options are not run through a state quota system. Four of the six colleges in this guide, IBS (under IFHE), GITAM, NMIMS and Symbiosis (SIBM), are deemed-to-be universities; the fifth, Woxsen, is a private university under its state act; and the sixth, IMT Hyderabad, is an AICTE-approved autonomous PGDM institute of the IMT group. Each admits only through its own published exam and selection process, which is exactly what “direct admission” legitimately means here: you apply straight to the university, take an accessible exam, and compete on merit.

How direct admission actually works in Hyderabad

Under the UGC (Institutions Deemed to be Universities) Regulations, 2023, deemed universities must admit on merit through entrance examinations or as declared in their published prospectus, with no donation or capitation permitted. That covers IBS/IFHE, GITAM, NMIMS and Symbiosis in Hyderabad. There is no statutory management-quota layer over these seats, nothing like Maharashtra’s 20% institute-level seats or Delhi’s 10% management seats applies to them, so an agent selling a “quota seat” at any of these campuses is selling something that officially does not exist. In practice, the accessible doors in Hyderabad are the universities’ own exams. IBSAT is a two-hour remote-proctored test taken from home, and a single Rs 1,800 application covers all nine IBS campuses. Woxsen accepts its own WAT aptitude test in place of CAT/NMAT/XAT/GMAT/GRE, followed by a personal interview under a holistic scoring process. GITAM runs GBAT and also accepts AP-TG ICET, the state exam, alongside CAT/MAT/NMAT/CMAT/SNAP. NMIMS admits through NMAT — note that NMIMS accepts only the score of your first NMAT attempt, per its official admission handout — and SIBM Hyderabad admits through SNAP, which allows three attempts a year across 79 test cities. IMT Hyderabad reads CAT, XAT and GMAT only, on the IMT group’s common application, with an offline interview from February 2027 and a published Rs 16 lakh two-year fee that already includes accommodation and mess.

Three quota facts in this city are now real and verified. Woxsen officially reserves 25% of its seats for Telangana-domicile students under the state private-university act, a domicile reservation filled through the same admission process. NMIMS publishes a caution notice stating there is no management quota for any program and that such offers are fraudulent; Business Standard documented agents quoting Rs 15 lakh for a fake NMIMS quota seat. And SIBM Hyderabad’s own fee page — opened on 6 September 2026 — prints a small Discretionary Quota at double the open-category academic fee, paid to the institute itself, the one published institute-level route in the city; the university simultaneously states admissions are strictly on merit, charges no capitation and permanently debars agent-routed aspirants.

The legal line to remember: management quota is legal only where state law creates it, and even then admission must be merit-based and transparent.
