The short answer
As of September 2026, N. L. Dalmia's PGDM admission for Batch 2026-28 runs on seven exams — CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT, MH-CET, MAT or ATMA — with a 50% graduation bar, SOP and GD-PI, a printed Rs 16,50,000 two-year fee, merit scholarships up to Rs 6.5 lakh, and a written rule: no management quota or institutional-level seats.
Selection process
- Hold a three-year bachelor's degree with 50% marks in any discipline; final-year candidates may apply.
- Carry a valid score in at least one of seven exams: CAT (2025), XAT (2026), GMAT (June 2024 onwards), CMAT (2026), MH-CET (2026), MAT (August 2025 onwards) or ATMA (August 2025 onwards).
- Apply online and submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP).
- Attend the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD-PI) if shortlisted on entrance scores.
- Final selection is a cumulative weightage of entrance exam score, academic record, GD-PI scores and work experience; offers follow that composite merit.

Is there a management quota here?
No — printed in the institute's own FAQ, opened on 7 September 2026: 'Admission to the PGDM program at NLDIMSR is strictly merit-based. There are no management quota or institutional-level seats.' The next answer adds that the PGDM has no seats reserved for the Hindi Linguistic Minority either. In a city where 'management quota' is the most-sold phrase in the admission market, this is the cleanest possible answer: seven exams, one composite merit list, one published fee.
N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research is the Mumbai PGDM that answers the market’s favourite question before you ask it. Buried in no brochure footnote but printed in its plain admissions FAQ: “Admission to the PGDM program at NLDIMSR is strictly merit-based. There are no management quota or institutional-level seats.” In a city where those exact words are the opener of a hundred agent pitches, this institute sells nothing but a published process.
What should an applicant plan for?
The widest verified exam menu we have mapped in Mumbai: seven routes — CAT 2025, XAT 2026, GMAT (June 2024 onwards), CMAT 2026, MH-CET 2026, MAT (August 2025 onwards) and ATMA (August 2025 onwards). The bar is a 50% graduation aggregate with final-year candidates welcome, the application carries a Statement of Purpose, and selection is a printed cumulative weightage of entrance score, academics, GD-PI and work experience. For a MAT or ATMA taker, this is one of the cleanest doors in the metro.
The money is one printed line: Rs 16,50,000 for the two years (Rs 8.6 lakh plus Rs 7.9 lakh), identical across all three PGDM variants. Then the scholarship grid does real work — a 90-plus percentile on CAT, XAT or GMAT cuts Rs 6,50,000 off that fee, taking the effective cost to Rs 10 lakh; 85-89.99 cuts Rs 4,06,250; 80-84.99 cuts Rs 3,25,000; CMAT and MH-CET applicants have their own printed bands. Education-loan partners are named on the page (Axis, IDFC First, TATA Capital, Credila), and the hostel is honestly described as off-campus but nearby.
Placements are published as FAQ figures, not an audited report: Batch 2024-26 shows a Rs 24.00 LPA highest and Rs 10.5 LPA average, with Bloomberg, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley and KPMG on the named-recruiter list — plausible for a Mumbai finance-facing PGDM, and to be read with our placement-report guide. Set it against KJ Somaiya and ITM Navi Mumbai, or start from the Mumbai money map.
