NMIMS MBA Cancellation and Refund (2026): The Official Route

If you need to withdraw an NMIMS MBA admission, the useful question is not “what do people say the refund is?” It is “what does my offer say, what is the university’s official cancellation route, and when did I submit the request?” Those three records are the ones that matter.

Use NMIMS’s own cancellation process

NMIMS publishes an online admission-cancellation page and says that a withdrawal request can be applied only through that route. The page asks applicants to follow the withdrawal process set out in their offer or call-for-counselling letter. Start there; an email, WhatsApp message or an agent’s assurance should not be treated as a substitute for a completed university record.

Before you begin, keep copies of the offer letter, fee receipt, payment confirmation and the identity/bank details the portal requests. Use the account and information attached to the admission. After submitting, save the acknowledgement, date and reference details.

Do not quote a generic refund percentage

The cancellation page and the current admission handout agree on the shape: withdrawals run through NMIMS’s online cancellation process, and refunds follow the rules announced by AICTE for the cycle. The handout adds two anchors — the closure date of admission and the commencement date key the refund clause, and the policy printed in the offer or counselling letter governs your admission. That means a social-media refund slab or an old video is not enough evidence for your MBA offer. One more printed line matters: the Rs 3,000 NMIMS registration charge is non-refundable, and an application found ineligible stands cancelled with fees forfeited.

The practical order is:

1. Read the cancellation clause and dates in your own offer.
2. Open the official NMIMS cancellation page from the university domain.
3. Submit through that route before the relevant cutoff.
4. Retain the acknowledgement and payment receipt.
5. Ask admissions in writing if the letter and portal instructions conflict.

Why the offer letter matters for fee decisions

The handout prints a reference fee table “for information only” — Rs 13,50,000 per annum for the Mumbai flagship, down to Rs 9,00,000 at the newest campuses, mapped on our NMIMS campuses compared page — and says the binding amount for the incoming year is intimated in the offer letter at admission. The letter therefore carries both the live payment information and the withdrawal terms that apply to that admission. Read both before you accept an offer, particularly if you are awaiting another result.

Avoid the unofficial route

Do not pay a third party to “process” a cancellation or promise a particular deduction. The university’s public process is the only route documented by NMIMS. If a money request or instruction is not in the offer or on an NMIMS page, verify it with admissions before taking any action.
