The short answer

As of 10 September 2026, IIM Bodh Gaya admits its 300-seat MBA through CAT and the CAP 2026 joint interview with IIM Jammu and IIM Sirmaur — Gender-Neutral General bar 90 overall, Supernumerary Girls bar 85 — then ranks on CAT 50%, PI 25% and profile 25%, and prints a Rs 17,96,000 two-year fee.

Selection process

  1. Take CAT 2025 and clear the announced CAP 2026 Expression-of-Interest bars, printed per programme in Gender-Neutral (GN) and Supernumerary Girls (SNG) columns. For the flagship MBA — GN: General 65/65/65 with 90 overall, EWS 75, NC-OBC 75, SC 60, ST and PwD 38; SNG: General 85, EWS 70, NC-OBC 70, SC 55, ST and PwD 35 overall on the same sectionals.
  2. Submit the Expression of Interest with a Rs 20,000 deposit when invited; the institute's EOI notice is dated 21 January 2026 and points to the CAP portal hosted on IIM Jammu's domain.
  3. Attend the CAP 2026 Personal Interview — offline, common to the three member IIMs. Only candidates at or above the institute's Minimum Performance Requirement in the PI enter the final list.
  4. The final merit list, out of 100, weighs: CAT 2025 scaled score (not percentile) 50, PI 25, and profile 25 — academics 15 (Class 10 at 70%+ earns 4, Class 12 at 70%+ earns 5, graduation at 60%+ earns 6; CA/CS/CMA earns the 6) plus work experience 10, peaking at two-to-four years.
  5. Work experience must be bank-verifiable: a bank statement is mandatory, and cash, UPI, joint-account or sub-90-day stints are expressly excluded.
  6. Accept the offer within the stipulated date with an Rs 80,000 offer-acceptance amount; both the EoI and acceptance amounts adjust against the Term I fee.

Is there a management quota here?

No. IIM Bodh Gaya admits through CAT and the printed CAP 2026 process — a common interview and a mechanical 50/25/25 formula — and its only extra channel is the printed Supernumerary Girls provision: up to 30% of seats offered as supernumerary girls' seats on the same merit ladder when the gender-neutral pool under-fills with women. That is affirmative action in writing, not a seat for sale. The policy warns that forged or misleading documents cancel the admission without refund and bar the candidate for three admission cycles. Nothing on the official pages opened on 10 September 2026 shows any management, NRI or paid channel.

IIM Bodh Gaya publishes the two things a borderline candidate most needs to see in one place: an announced cut-off table with a separate, lower column for women, and a final formula where the CAT score is only half the story. For the 2026-28 batch it also settles a structural question the market has guessed at all season: CAP 2026 is a three-IIM process — Bodh Gaya, Jammu and Sirmaur — with the application portal hosted on IIM Jammu’s domain.

What should an applicant plan for?

Admission runs CAT 2025 → CAP 2026. The institute’s Expression-of-Interest notice, dated 21 January 2026, prints the bars per programme in two columns — Gender-Neutral and Supernumerary Girls (SNG). For the flagship MBA the General bar is 90 GN / 85 SNG with 65 sectionals; the Digital Business & AI MBA prints 88/83; and the Hospital & Healthcare Management MBA prints 75 GN / 70 SNG — the lowest published General bar we have mapped at any IIM this cycle.

The interview is one offline CAP sitting, common to the three member IIMs. After it, Bodh Gaya ranks on its own print: scaled CAT score 50%, PI 25%, profile 25% — academics 15 (banded at 70/70/60 percent across Class 10, 12 and graduation) and work experience 10, peaking at two-to-four years and verified by bank statement, with cash and UPI salaries expressly excluded. A Minimum Performance Requirement in the PI gates the final list, so the interview is a eliminator as well as a scorer.

The money is printed to the rupee in the fee document dated 8 May 2026: Rs 17,96,000 for the two years — tuition Rs 1,60,000, hostel Rs 41,000 and academic charges Rs 80,000 per term — plus a refundable Rs 25,000 caution deposit and mess deposits. Entry runs through a Rs 20,000 EoI and an Rs 80,000 acceptance, both absorbed into Term I. Compare the formula with IIM Sirmaur’s composite, read the process anatomy in CAP 2026 explained, or check where these bars sit on the percentile-band map.

Questions, answered

Which exam does IIM Bodh Gaya accept for the MBA?
CAT only. The official 2026-28 admission policy, opened on 10 September 2026, routes admission through CAT 2025 and the CAP 2026 joint interview shared with IIM Jammu and IIM Sirmaur. There is no GMAT route and no institute-level test for the flagship MBA.
What CAT percentile does IIM Bodh Gaya need?
The announced CAP 2026 EOI bars for the flagship MBA: Gender-Neutral General 90 overall with 65 in each section, EWS 75, NC-OBC 75, SC 60, ST and PwD 38. The Supernumerary Girls column runs five points lower — General 85 — on the same sectionals. The healthcare MBA prints the group's lowest bar: 75 Gender-Neutral.
What is the IIM Bodh Gaya MBA fee?
The printed 2026-28 fee document totals Rs 17,96,000 across six terms — Rs 8,98,000 per year with tuition, hostel and academic charges inside — plus a refundable Rs 25,000 caution deposit and term-wise mess and laundry deposits. The Rs 20,000 EoI and Rs 80,000 acceptance amounts adjust against Term I.
What are Supernumerary Girls seats at IIM Bodh Gaya?
A printed affirmative-action provision: if the gender-neutral pool under-fills with women, up to 30% of seats are offered as supernumerary girls' seats — over and above the regular intake — ranked on the same merit formula with their own announced cut-off column (General 85). It is not a quota anyone can buy.
Is there a management quota at IIM Bodh Gaya?
No. Admission runs on CAT minimums, one common CAP interview and a printed 50/25/25 formula; the policy cancels admissions over forged documents without refund and bars the candidate for three cycles. Any offer of a paid seat at IIM Bodh Gaya describes a channel the institute does not publish.
