The short answer
As of September 2026, IIM Kozhikode's PGP admission is CAT-only through a published three-stage policy: a General-category bar of 85 percentile with 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation, WAT-PI across six cities, and a printed Rs 23,50,000 two-year fee for 2026-28. The policy states the admissions office authorises no other individual or organisation to manage admissions.
Selection process
- Take CAT and score a positive (greater than zero) scaled score in all three sections; only such candidates are considered.
- Stage 1 — register online against the minimum eligibility: General 85 percentile overall and 75 sectional with 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation; OBC-NCL/EWS 75/65 with 60/60; SC 65/55 with 55/55; ST/PwD 55/45 with 55/55; CA/CMA(ICWA)/CS holders need 50% in the professional exams instead of the graduation bar.
- Stage 2 — the WAT-PI shortlist is drawn on an Aggregate Index Score: CAT index 50%, Class 10 score 15%, Class 12 score 20%, gender/academic diversity 10%/5%, work experience 5%.
- Stage 3 — write the WAT essay and attend the Personal Interview (held in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi); the final score weighs CAT 35%, PI 35%, WAT 20% and resume 10%, and offers follow category-wise merit under Government of India reservation norms.

Is there a management quota here?
No — and the admissions policy says it in the plainest institutional language we have opened. Point 13 of the PGP 2026-28 policy, read on 7 September 2026: 'All communication regarding PGP admissions at IIM Kozhikode will solely occur through the admissions office of IIM Kozhikode. The admissions office does not authorise any other individual or organisation to manage PGP admissions on its behalf. Any candidate attempting to gain admission through fraud will be disqualified from the process immediately.' Every seat goes through CAT, the three stages, and category-wise merit under Government of India reservation norms; there is no priced channel.
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode publishes the two documents a serious applicant actually needs, and we opened both today: a seven-page admissions policy that spells out every bar and every weight, and a signed one-page fee structure that prints the money to the rupee — Rs 11,75,000 a year, Rs 23,50,000 for the programme. The earlier reason this profile did not exist is gone: the institute’s pages, which once served placeholder stubs, now carry the real documents.
What should an applicant plan for?
The highest published academic floor we have opened at any IIM. General-category candidates need 85 percentile overall with 75 in each CAT section — and 60% in Class 10, Class 12 and graduation, a triple academic bar most IIMs do not print. The shortlist then runs on a published Aggregate Index Score (CAT 50%, Class 10 15%, Class 12 20%, diversity 10%/5%, work experience 5%), with each board’s percentages normalised against the board’s own highest score — an unusually fair piece of arithmetic for students from strict marking boards.
The finale is a half-day WAT-PI across six cities — Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, Mumbai and New Delhi — and a final score of CAT 35%, PI 35%, WAT 20% and resume 10%, where the resume rewards exactly two things: a completed CA/CMA/CS, or CFA levels. Offers go out in category-wise merit order around the first week of May, acceptance costs Rs 1,00,000, and the policy answers the two questions families ask us most: no, the offer cannot be postponed to next year, and no, the admissions office does not authorise any other individual or organisation to manage admissions — fraud attempts are disqualified immediately, in the policy’s own words.
