Symbiosis School of Sports Sciences (SSSS), Pune

SSSS Pune is the Symbiosis system’s sports specialist — a two-year MBA (Sports Management) running since 2016 at the Lavale campus, and, as of today, the sixth Symbiosis campus whose own documents print the 2x Discretionary Quota rule. What should an applicant plan for?

The full 2027-28 calendar is printed: SNAP registration closes 25 November 2026, tests run 13, 19 and 26 December 2026, the result lands 12 January 2027 — and then the institute’s own clock starts: SSSS registration and payment close 21 January 2027, the shortlist prints 29 January, slot booking runs 30 January-11 February, GE-PI sits 12-13 February 2027, the first merit list declares 1 March, fees follow by 22 March, and the programme commences 7 June 2027. Unlike SIHS or SCIT, whose forms close before the SNAP result, SSSS’s own window opens after it — but it is short, and a SNAP score never reaches SSSS without the separate institute payment.

The fee, and the quota line beneath it

The official 2026-28 fee PDF prints Rs 4,60,000 per annum — instalments of Rs 2,30,000 x 4, Rs 9,20,000 across the batch — plus a Rs 20,000 refundable deposit. Read the arithmetic habit this site has learned from the Symbiosis tables: here the “per annum” label is the real one, proved by the instalment row (the reverse of the SIBM Pune trap). Hostel three-sharing prints Rs 1,68,900 a year and mess Rs 1,19,600 a year on top.

Under the same table prints the full Discretionary Quota Seats paragraph — a few seats, double the open-category academic fee, Fee Structure Committee approved, paid to the institute by transfer or demand draft, locked for the entire duration, and gated on a reasonable academic record and good entrance-test scores. On SSSS’s numbers the 2x line reads Rs 9,20,000 per annum, Rs 18,40,000 across the batch — the cheapest 2x entry point of the six printing campuses, because the base fee is among the lowest in the system. Placements 2022-24, in print

The institute’s placements page reports the 2022-24 batch at 91.3% of eligible students placed — 34 full-time placements, 5 in consulting or freelancing, highest Rs 8 LPA, average CTC Rs 4.8 LPA, 3 entrepreneurial opt-outs and 4 awaiting decisions at print time. That is a niche sports-industry outcome set: judge it against the sports-career goal it serves, not against a general-management campus’s audited average — our placement-report guide shows the difference.

The quota answer, precisely

A printed, score-gated, institute-receipted 2x route exists here — documented, committee-approved, and still requiring a real SNAP score. What does not exist is any agent-mediated version of it: SIU’s caution notice (no donation, no capitation, no authorised agents, permanent debarment) governs this campus like every other, and the NRI/foreign-national tracks run through the university’s international office, not through consultants.
