Great Lakes Chennai Fees (2026): PGPM and PGDM, Fully Sourced

Great Lakes Chennai publishes both of its fee structures to the rupee, on its own website, hostel included. That single fact settles most of the questions families bring to us, because any figure that does not match the published tables is not a fee. This page reproduces every published figure with its source, keeps the two programmes strictly separate, lists what is genuinely not published yet, and explains what a higher quote from a third party actually means.

One framing point first. Great Lakes runs two different products: the one-year PGPM for candidates with work experience, and the two-year PGDM for freshers. They have different fee tables, different hostels and different totals. Agent pitches routinely blur them into one “Great Lakes package”. Keep them apart, the way the institute does.

What is the published Great Lakes PGPM fee?

Rs 23,50,000 in total for Indian students, per the official Fee Structure 2026-27 on the PGPM fee page (greatlakes.edu.in/chennai/pgpm/fees, accessed 13 July 2026). International students pay USD 41,450 total, per the same table.

Two published details sit alongside the table. The caution deposit is refundable, and the refund policy follows AICTE norms, both stated on the fee page itself. Before any of this, the only money in play is the application fee of Rs 2,200 for the online form, per the official PGPM admissions page; a single form can cover the Chennai and Gurgaon campuses.

What is the published Great Lakes PGDM fee?

Rs 22,50,000 in total for the two-year 2026-28 batch, per the official Fee Structure 2026-28 on the PGDM fee page (greatlakes.edu.in/chennai/pgdm/fees, accessed 13 July 2026).

The PGDM is a residential programme. The official fee page states the hostel is mandatory, rooms are twin-sharing AC, and vegetarian meals are included in the accommodation figure. The refund policy again follows AICTE norms. The application fee is the same Rs 2,200, per the PGDM admissions page.

Note what the two tables tell you when read side by side. The two-year PGDM’s academic cost (Rs 16,03,000) is lower than the one-year PGPM’s (Rs 19,39,000), because the programmes serve different candidates: the PGPM admissions page pitches the programme at candidates with two or more years of work experience, while the PGDM page limits eligibility to freshers and candidates with under 36 months of experience. The exam lists differ too; the PGPM accepts NMAT alongside GMAT, CAT and XAT, while the PGDM page lists GMAT, CAT and XAT only. What is NOT published yet?

Three things, and all three matter for anyone applying this cycle.

1. The PGPM fee for the 2027-28 batch. The admissions process currently open is for the 2027-28 intake, but the official fee page is still headed 2026-27. Until the institute posts the new table, treat Rs 23,50,000 as last cycle’s benchmark and confirm the current figure on the official PGPM fee page.
2. The PGDM fee for the 2027-29 batch. Same situation: admissions are for 2027-29, the fee page is headed 2026-28. Confirm the current figure on the official PGDM fee page.
3. Any PGDM scholarship scheme. No PGDM-specific scholarship is published anywhere on the PGDM pages; the PGDM navigation’s scholarships link points to the PGPM section. If someone offers to “arrange” a PGDM scholarship, they are quoting a scheme that does not exist in print.

And one thing is absent by design, not omission: there is no management-quota fee column. The published categories are Indian students and international students. That is the entire list.

Do scholarships reduce the Great Lakes fee?

For the PGPM, yes, and the scheme is published on the official admissions page. Forty diversity and merit scholarships worth Rs 5 lakhs each are offered to the incoming PGPM cohort, with a minimum of 30% reserved for female students. There is no separate application; shortlisting runs through the application form, essays and interview assessment. Above that sits the Dr. Bala V Balachandran Merit Scholarship, a full tuition fee waiver plus CXO and alumni mentorship, for candidates with exceptional potential and a demonstrated track record. On the 2026-27 fee table, the tuition line that waiver applies to is Rs 12,43,000.

Read the design of these schemes carefully, because it closes a common sales pitch. Since there is no separate scholarship application, there is nothing for an intermediary to file, expedite or influence. The scholarship decision comes out of the same essays and interviews as the admission decision. Nobody can sell you a Great Lakes scholarship, and for the PGDM there is not even a published scheme to misrepresent.

What does a figure above the published fee mean?

It means the figure is not a Great Lakes fee at all, and the institute says so itself, in writing, on both admissions pages. The institute states that it ‘does not admit students under Management Quota or any other form of reservation’, that any third party offering management-quota seats for its programmes would be fraudulent, and that applicants are requested not to approach such organisations or individuals. No third party is authorised to initiate applications; the only route in is the online application on greatlakes.edu.in.

So walk through what a higher quote would have to be. It is not tuition, because tuition is published to the rupee for both programmes. It is not the hostel, because accommodation is a published line item in both tables. It is not a quota premium, because the institute has stated the route does not exist and has pre-labelled anyone selling it as fraudulent. What remains is a payment beyond the sanctioned fee, which is capitation, banned in Tamil Nadu under the state’s Prohibition of Collection of Capitation Fee Act, 1992. The practical rule is short. Pay Rs 2,200 to apply, pay the published fee to the institute after it issues a written offer, keep the receipts, and treat any other number, from any source including this page once the new tables are out, as unconfirmed until you see it on greatlakes.edu.in.
