KJ Somaiya MBA Fees in 2026: The Published Figures, Sourced

KJ Somaiya MBA fees, sourced: Rs 11,52,000 year one, Rs 12,35,500 year two (batch 2026-28, official admission page), specialised-MBA fees and scholarships.

The short answer

As of July 2026, KJ Somaiya's published MBA fee for the 2026-28 batch is Rs 11,52,000 for year one and Rs 12,35,500 for year two, Rs 23,87,500 in total, per the official KJSIM admission page. Sports Management and Marketing Communications cost less. Scholarship amounts are not published. No management quota exists, and any demand above these figures is capitation.

Ask an agent what a KJ Somaiya MBA seat costs and you will hear a “package”. Ask the institute and you get something unusual for a Mumbai business school: a complete two-year fee table, published on the admission page down to the last rupee, for all four MBA programmes. That makes this a short page to write and a hard college to lie about. Every figure below comes from the institute’s own pages, accessed on 13 July 2026, with the source named next to the number.

What is the published KJ Somaiya MBA fee for 2026-28?

Rs 11,52,000 for the first year and Rs 12,35,500 for the second, a two-year total of Rs 23,87,500 for the flagship MBA, per the fee table on the official KJSIM MBA admission page for the 2026-28 batch. The MBA in Healthcare Management carries the same fee. The two other specialised MBAs cost less.

MBA - Marketing Communications30 seatsRs 8,60,000Rs 8,52,500Rs 17,12,500

All per-year figures and intakes are from the KJSIM MBA admission page (batch 2026-28); the totals are simple sums of the two published year fees. One quirk worth noticing: the Marketing Communications fee goes down in year two, from Rs 8,60,000 to Rs 8,52,500. That is how the institute publishes it, not a typo on our side.

Publishing both years upfront matters more than it sounds. NMIMS, the other Mumbai MBA that shares this applicant pool, publishes only last year’s fee and delivers the real number in the offer letter; we cover that in our NMIMS Mumbai fee page. At KJ Somaiya you can put the full Rs 23,87,500 into a loan application before you apply. No estimate, no aggregator, no waiting for an offer letter.

What has KJ Somaiya not published?

Scholarship amounts, mainly. The Somaiya Scholarships portal lists the schemes open to university students but publishes no rupee amounts and no detailed criteria on its landing page; it directs queries to [email protected]. If a counsellor quotes you a specific scholarship figure for KJ Somaiya, ask for the official page it came from, because we could not find one.

The admission-page fee table covers tuition by year. Charges outside that table, such as the application fee and hostel costs, were not part of the pages we verified, so confirm those directly on the official admission page before budgeting.

One more honesty note. The institute’s two official pages currently disagree with each other. The admission page, which carries the 2026-28 fee table, lists nine accepted exams and a selection process weighted across a written ability test, a problem situation analysis and a personal interview. The programme page still shows an older five-exam list and GD-PI wording. Treat the admission page as the current cycle’s source; the fee table above sits on that page. The stage-by-stage detail is in our KJ Somaiya selection process guide.

What scholarships does Somaiya publish?

Three routes, all real, none with a published amount.

  • Financial Aid, open to students applying for any programme under Somaiya Vidyavihar University, per the Somaiya Scholarships portal.
  • Somaiya Scholarships, open to all students of the Somaiya Vidyavihar and Somaiya Ayurvihar campuses, per the same portal.
  • KJSIM Alumni Scholarship, offered via the alumni portal and named on the KJSIM MBA programme page.

Because no amounts or cut-offs are published, do not build a fee plan around a scholarship figure someone quoted you. Write to [email protected], get the current terms in writing, and treat the full published fee as your baseline until then.

What does any figure above the published fee mean?

It means capitation, and at this college it also means the person quoting it has no standing at all. The KJSIM admission page carries its own anti-fraud notice stating that admissions are facilitated only through the transparent published admission process, and that the institute has no agents, liaisons, admissions office representatives or MOUs. There is no authorised middleman to buy from. Anyone selling access is selling something the institute says, in writing, does not exist.

There is also no quota to attach a premium to. KJ Somaiya publishes no management quota route. As a constituent institute of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, a private university under the Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai Act 2019 (university FAQs), it sits outside the MAH-CET CAP system, so Maharashtra’s 20% institute-level quota layer, a state CET Cell rule we unpack in our institute-level quota guide, does not apply here either. Every one of the 600-plus seats runs through the same published process: exam score, written test, problem analysis, interview, profile.

The law backs this up. Under the Maharashtra Educational Institutions (Prohibition of Capitation Fee) Act, 1987, any payment demanded beyond the published fee is capitation, a criminal offence carrying imprisonment and refund of the amount collected. A “package” quoted above the published Rs 23,87,500 is not a premium seat. It is the published fee plus an illegal payment, wrapped in a promise of a certain seat that nobody outside the admission committee can deliver. The wider legal picture is in our management quota explainer and our guide to whether management quota is legal.

One budgeting note that doubles as a scam filter. The KJSIM programme page states the best of two NMAT attempts is considered, so a retake can genuinely improve your standing here. That is a rule you can verify on an official page in thirty seconds. Anything an agent tells you should survive the same test. If it is not on kjsim.somaiya.edu, it is not part of the price.

How does Udaan help with KJ Somaiya?

Udaan works only inside the published process, because at KJ Somaiya there is no other process. We map your exam scores against the institute’s nine accepted exams, help you decide whether an NMAT retake is worth it under the best-of-two rule, and prepare you for the written test, problem analysis and interview stages where the weightage actually sits. We take no commissions and have no tie-ups; you pay the college directly, against its published fee table, with a receipt. And if your profile does not realistically clear this process, we will say exactly that and show you where it does.

Straight answers

What is the total KJ Somaiya MBA fee for the 2026-28 batch?
Rs 23,87,500 over two years for the flagship MBA and the MBA in Healthcare Management: Rs 11,52,000 for 2026-27 and Rs 12,35,500 for 2027-28, per the fee table on the official KJSIM MBA admission page.
Are the specialised KJ Somaiya MBAs cheaper than the flagship?
Two of them are. The MBA in Sports Management totals Rs 15,13,000 (Rs 7,31,500 plus Rs 7,81,500) and the MBA in Marketing Communications totals Rs 17,12,500 (Rs 8,60,000 plus Rs 8,52,500) across the two years, per the KJSIM admission page fee table for batch 2026-28. The MBA in Healthcare Management costs the same as the flagship MBA.
Does KJ Somaiya have a management quota?
No. The institute publishes no management quota route, and its admission page carries an anti-fraud notice stating that admissions are facilitated only through its transparent published process and that it has no agents, liaisons, admissions office representatives or MOUs. As a constituent of a private university it also sits outside the MAH-CET CAP system, so there is no institute-level quota layer either.
Does retaking NMAT help at KJ Somaiya?
Yes. The KJSIM MBA programme page states that the best of two NMAT attempts will be considered. That is the opposite of NMIMS, which accepts only the first attempt's score. The exam's own retake allowance and each school's acceptance policy are separate rules; check the school's policy before paying for a retake.
What scholarships does KJ Somaiya publish, and how much are they worth?
Three routes are published without amounts: Financial Aid open to applicants of any Somaiya Vidyavihar University programme, Somaiya Scholarships open to all students of the Vidyavihar and Ayurvihar campuses (both on scholarships.somaiya.edu), and a KJSIM Alumni Scholarship named on the MBA programme page. None of these pages publishes rupee amounts or detailed criteria; the portal directs queries to [email protected].
Is KJ Somaiya part of MAH-CET CAP counselling?
No. KJ Somaiya Institute of Management is a constituent institute of Somaiya Vidyavihar University, a private university established under the Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai Act 2019 per the university's own FAQs. It fills all its seats through its own published multi-exam process, and PERA-CET appears in its accepted-exam list.
