Symbiosis Institute of Digital and Telecom Management (SIDTM), Pune
Last updated 20 September 2026 · Reviewed by Piyush Agarwal · Latest change: Initial profile from the institute's programmes page opened today: the full 2027-29 SNAP-to-commencement calendar (programme starts 7 June 2027), sanctioned intake 180, the 2026-28 instalment table with arithmetic (Rs 4,22,500 per semester), and the printed Discretionary Quota Seats rule at double the open-category academic fee for the entire duration — the third Symbiosis campus we have found printing that 2x line.
The short answer
As of 20 September 2026, SIDTM Pune's MBA (Digital and Telecom Management) is SNAP-only — SNAP closes 25 November 2026, the institute form closes 11 January 2027, GE-PI runs 4-7 and 11-14 February, and the first merit list posts 4 March. Academic fees print at Rs 4,22,500 per instalment, Rs 8,45,000 a year. The fee table also prints Discretionary Quota Seats at double the open-category academic fee.

Is there a management quota here?
SIDTM prints a Discretionary Quota Seats line on its programmes page: only students with a reasonable academic record and good entrance-test scores are considered; the fee is double the open-category academic fees approved by the Fee Structure Committee, paid to the institute by online transfer or demand draft; no donation or capitation is charged; and once admitted on that track the discretionary fee applies for the entire duration. That is a printed institute-level route — the same 2x shape as SIBM Bengaluru and SIBM Hyderabad — not an agent-sold 'management quota'. SIU's caution notice still applies: no authorised agents, and approaching one can mean permanent debarring.
SIDTM is the digital-and-telecom door of the Symbiosis system at Lavale Hill Top: SNAP-only, 180 printed seats, and — the day’s finding — a fee table that prints Discretionary Quota Seats at double the open-category academic fee. Every date and rupee below is from sidtm.edu.in/programmes/, opened today. (sitm.ac.in redirects here; the institute was SITM.)
What should an applicant plan for?
Two registrations, with SIDTM’s own form closing the day before the SNAP result (11 January 2027). SNAP first (closes 25 November 2026), then the institute payment, then a 21 January shortlist, 23 January slot booking, GE-PI across 4-7 and 11-14 February, merit list 4 March, fees 29 March, class on 7 June 2027. The academic bill is Rs 4,22,500 per instalment, Rs 8,45,000 a year. The discretionary-quota line is not a rumour: it is on the same page as the fee table, it requires good entrance-test scores, it is paid to the institute, and it lasts the whole programme.
Where does SIDTM sit in a Pune shortlist?
In the middle of the SNAP specialist band — above SICSR on fee, below SSBF and SIIB IB. It is a specialist digital-and-telecom MBA, not a generalist SNAP campus. Our specialist comparison puts the four bills — and this 2x quota line — in one table. Against Pune’s wider field in our city guide, the honest-counselor point is the printed distinction: SIBM Pune still prints no discretionary-quota line; SIDTM does, in the same words as SIBM Bengaluru and SIBM Hyderabad.
How Udaan helps with SIDTM applicants
We time the 11 January institute payment so it is not lost in the SNAP-result wait, read the discretionary-quota rule against the family’s budget before GE-PI, and check the three 60-seat specialisations against the career plan. Anyone offering a SIDTM seat off the books is contradicting the page that prints both the 2x track and SIU’s no-agent notice.

Questions, answered
- What is the SIDTM Pune MBA fee?
- Rs 4,22,500 per instalment — Rs 8,45,000 a year in academic fees — per the instalment table on the official programmes page opened 20 September 2026. The first instalment at admission is Rs 6,79,600 because it also carries the two refundable deposits, three-sharing hostel (Rs 1,57,300) and mess (Rs 59,800). A summary table still labelled 2025-26 prints the same Rs 8,45,000 annual academic fee.
- Does SIDTM have a management quota?
- It prints Discretionary Quota Seats. The programmes page says only students with a reasonable academic record and good entrance-test scores are considered; the fee is double the open-category academic fees approved by the Fee Structure Committee, paid to the institute by transfer or demand draft; no donation or capitation is charged; and that fee then applies for the entire duration. That is a printed 2x track — the same shape as SIBM Bengaluru and SIBM Hyderabad — not an agent-sold seat. SIU still debarres anyone who approaches through an agent.
- Does SIDTM accept CAT or only SNAP?
- Only SNAP. The admission schedule on the programmes page runs on SNAP 2026 plus SIDTM's own registration — no CAT, XAT, NMAT, CMAT or MAT route appears.
- When does SIDTM's own form close?
- 11 January 2027, the day before the SNAP result on 12 January 2027. Slot booking for GE-PI is 23 January; GE-PI runs 4-7 and 11-14 February; the first merit list posts 4 March 2027 with fees due 29 March; the programme starts 7 June 2027.
- How many seats does SIDTM have?
- The programmes page prints a sanctioned intake of 180, with three specialisations each listed at 60 (Systems and Finance, Marketing and Finance, AI and Analytics), plus printed over-and-above layers for two Kashmiri-migrant seats and 25% international candidates.
