Christ MBA Selection Process (2026), Step by Step
Christ MBA selection 2026 step by step: GD and micro presentation, written test, interview, academic record, and what the entrance score really counts for.
The short answer
As of July 2026, Christ University selects MBA candidates through four assessed components: a group discussion with a 90-second micro presentation, a written assessment, a personal interview, and academic performance across Class 10, 12 and the undergraduate degree. The entrance score (MAT 600+, or 60 percentile in CAT/XAT/CMAT/ATMA) is an eligibility bar only; the university states it has no bearing on selection.
Christ’s MBA selection process is unusual among Indian B-schools in one specific way: the university says, in writing, that your entrance score does not decide your selection. Point 15 of the official MBA Selection 2026 page states the minimum entrance score “is only an eligibility criteria” and the actual score has no bearing in the selection process. That single line changes how you should prepare. This page walks through every published stage, what the bars actually are, and what happens after the result, with each fact tied to the university’s own pages.
What are the stages of the Christ MBA selection process?
Four assessed components, all published on the official MBA Selection 2026 page. Once your entrance score clears the eligibility bar, these are what decide your admission.
- Group Discussion and Micro Presentation. The GD runs 25 minutes per group. Each candidate also delivers a micro presentation of 90 seconds. Both are held in person at the venue you chose in your application: Bengaluru Central, Bengaluru BGR, Bengaluru Kengeri, Delhi NCR or Pune.
- Written Assessment. You write on a given topic, on not more than one A4 sheet, in not more than 10 minutes.
- Personal Interview. An expert panel interviews each candidate.
- Academic Performance. The university assesses your past performance in Class 10, Class 12 and your undergraduate degree from the documents you upload, along with your valid entrance-test scorecard.
Note what is not on this list: the entrance exam as a scored component. It gets you in the door and no further. Selection is won in the room, on paper you write that day, and on the academic record you already have.
Which exams does Christ accept, and what are the minimum scores?
For the 2026 intake, Christ accepted nine test windows, per the official MBA Admissions 2026 eligibility page: MAT September 2025, MAT December 2025, MAT February 2026, CAT November/December 2025, CMAT 2026, XAT 2026, ATMA 2026, GMAT FOCUS 2025/2026 and GRE 2025/2026.
The published minimum scores, from the same official page:
- MAT: 600 and above
- CAT, XAT, CMAT or ATMA: 60 percentile and above
- GMAT FOCUS: 450 and above
- GRE: 295 and above
These are eligibility bars, not competitive cutoffs. A candidate who just clears the MAT 600 bar and one far above the CAT 60-percentile bar enter the same selection process on the same footing, per the university’s own statement on the selection page. If CAT did not go your way, this is one of the cleanest published second doors in Bangalore; our guides to MBA through MAT and direct MBA admission without CAT map the others.
Does Christ publish a cutoff?
No. Christ publishes the eligibility bars above and nothing beyond them. There is no published round-wise or category-wise selection cutoff, because the university’s stated model does not work that way: the score is a gate, and the four assessed components decide the outcome. Ignore any site quoting a “Christ MBA cutoff” as a percentile you must beat; that figure is not on any official page. For the current cycle’s bars, confirm directly on the official eligibility page.
Who is eligible to apply?
Anyone with an undergraduate degree at 50 percent aggregate or above from a university recognised by the UGC or AIU, in India or abroad, plus a valid score in one accepted entrance test, per the eligibility criteria on the official MBA course page. Final-year students writing their exams during March to June 2026 were eligible with a 50 percent or higher aggregate in the semesters completed so far.
The application fee varies by programme and is up to Rs 1,800, non-refundable once the application number is generated, per the university’s official application-queries FAQ; the MBA-specific amount is not published on the public pages, so confirm it inside the application portal.
How do the selection sessions run through the year?
In batches, not on one national date. The 2026 cycle ran three selection sessions; the third closed applications on 6 May 2026, held selections on 9 May and declared results on 11 May 2026, per the university’s admission pages for that cycle. As of July 2026 the 2026 cycle is over and the 2027 pages are not yet published, so treat the official admission section as the only calendar that counts. Earlier sessions matter: applying early means more accepted exam windows are still ahead of you if your first score misses a bar.
What happens after the results?
You pay quickly, and the university decides your campus. Selected candidates pay the Year 1 programme fee within seven days of the selection result, per the Fee Structure 2026 on the official MBA course page: Rs 5,70,000 per year for Karnataka students and Rs 5,80,000 per year for other Indian states, plus a non-refundable Rs 8,000 admission registration fee. The full breakdown, including NRI and foreign-national rows and the Year 2 deadline, is in our Christ University MBA fees guide.
One clause many applicants miss: the university’s official Important Disclaimer page states that campus and programme allocation among all CHRIST campuses is solely at the University Management’s discretion and final. The course page likewise notes that selected MBA (Central/Kengeri) candidates may be allotted the Central or Kengeri campus based on seat availability. Apply knowing that.
Is there a quota or paid shortcut around this process?
No. No management or institutional quota route is published anywhere on the MBA pages; admission runs only through the application and selection process described above. The Miscellaneous Information tab of the official MBA course page states that the university “does not collect any type of Capitation / Donation other than the fee mentioned in the website.” So when an agent offers a Christ MBA seat for a package, they are offering a route the university says does not exist, at a payment the university explicitly disclaims. Promises of a certain seat are the signature of that fraud, not a service. The full picture, including what Karnataka law says about capitation, is in our Christ University management quota explainer and the Bangalore MBA guide.
How does Udaan help with Christ MBA selection?
Udaan works the process as it is actually published. We map your exam options against Christ’s accepted windows and bars, time your application to an early selection session, and prepare you for the parts that actually decide the outcome: the 25-minute GD, the 90-second micro presentation, the 10-minute written assessment and the panel interview. We take no commissions and have no partner colleges; every rupee you pay goes to the college, against its published fee table, with a receipt. And if your profile does not clear Christ’s eligibility bars this cycle, we will say so and show you which published routes remain open, starting with an honest conversation.
All details above carry their source inline and were verified on 13 July 2026. Exam windows, bars, session dates and fees change each cycle; confirm the current versions on the official pages linked in the sources before acting on them.
