SIESCOMS vs SIMSREE: One MMS Degree, Two Completely Different Prices

SIESCOMS vs SIMSREE for the Mumbai MMS: SIMSREE charges Rs 69,000 a year with no quota at all; SIESCOMS prints an upto-3x management-seat line at Rs 7,05,000.

The short answer

As of 26 September 2026, SIMSREE's MMS costs Rs 67,000 plus Rs 2,000 library a year with all 180 seats filled on merit through Maharashtra CAP — no quota exists. SIESCOMS's MMS prints an FRA-fixed Rs 2,35,000 a year and, in its own 1 August 2026 notice, management seats at up to three times, Rs 7,05,000.

The MMS is Maharashtra’s great leveller — one degree title, one entrance exam, one CAP counselling system. But the two ends of the Mumbai MMS market could not price a seat more differently. SIMSREE charges Rs 69,000 a year and sells nothing but merit; SIESCOMS charges Rs 2,35,000 at the regulator-fixed rate and prints, in its own notice, a management-seat price at up to three times that. Both documents were re-read today, 26 September 2026. This page is what the honest version of the “donation seat” conversation looks like.

The government end: SIMSREE, Rs 69,000, no door but CAP

SIMSREE’s official MMS page — serving live again today after weeks unreachable from our host — prints the whole proposition in four lines: 180 seats, filled through CAP rounds; fee Rs 67,000 plus Rs 2,000 library per year; the MAH MBA CET named first among qualifying exams (CMAT, CAT, MAT and ATMA also listed); a University of Mumbai degree the institute has run since 1983. The bar is 50% in graduation (45% for Maharashtra reserved categories). There is no SIMSREE application to buy, no interview to charm, no quota to price — the CAP merit list is the entire admissions office. The cost of that purity is competition: SIMSREE’s closing percentiles sit at the very top of the state table, which is why a Rs 69,000 year at Churchgate is the sharpest fee-to-brand ratio in the city after JBIMS.

The private end: SIESCOMS, the FRA rate — and the printed 3x

SIESCOMS Nerul runs the same MMS through the same CET. Its fee story lives in two official notices dated 1 August 2026, both re-read today. The first is the Fees Regulating Authority approval: MMS fixed at Rs 2,35,000 for 2026-27 (tuition Rs 2,04,348 plus development Rs 30,652). The second is the college’s own first-year fee notice — and this is the document the agent market hopes you never read: the Management Seats Fees row prints “upto 3 times”, i.e. Rs 7,05,000 for the year*, with Rs 25,000 caution money separate. The college also runs published institute-level and vacant-seat rounds with merit-number counselling, same-day payment and original documents — a legal, advertised process.

Two things are true at once, and the honest counsellor holds both: the SIESCOMS management seat is a printed, receipted transaction with the college itself — the polar opposite of a cash deal with an agent — and it costs three times the already-regulated fee for the same classroom. Whether the SIES brand justifies that premium against a second CET attempt is a family decision; what is not defensible is paying anyone else for it.

How to choose

If your CET percentile can reach SIMSREE’s closes, there is no decision — the Churchgate MMS at Rs 69,000 is the city’s best-value seat, full stop. Below that band, the honest options are SIESCOMS at the FRA rate through CAP or ILS rounds, SIESCOMS at its printed 3x with the trade-off understood, the wider Mumbai MMS set in our city guide, or a retake. What never belongs in the plan: an agent’s “SIMSREE quota seat” (the institute says none exists) or an agent’s markup on the SIESCOMS management seat (the college sells it directly, in writing, itself). Our quota-premium comparison maps every printed premium we have verified across India, and the Maharashtra institute-level rules page explains the law this all sits inside.

Straight answers

Is the SIESCOMS MMS the same degree as the SIMSREE MMS?
Both are the two-year Master of Management Studies inside the Maharashtra university system, filled through the same MAH MBA CET and CAP machinery. What differs is the institute — SIMSREE is a government institute at Churchgate running since 1983; SIESCOMS is a private unaided SIES college at Nerul, Navi Mumbai — and, decisively, the price and the quota position, which is what this page maps.
Does SIMSREE have a management quota?
No — and it cannot. SIMSREE's own page states all 180 MMS seats fill through DTE Maharashtra's CAP rounds; as a government institute inside the state system it holds no institute-level seats. SIESCOMS, as a private unaided college, does operate institute-level and management-seat rounds — and publishes the price openly, which is the honest version of the quota market.
What does the SIESCOMS management seat actually cost?
Per the college's own first-year fee notice dated 1 August 2026, read from the rendered scan today: the regular MMS total is Rs 2,35,000 (tuition Rs 2,04,348 plus development Rs 30,652, the figure the Fees Regulating Authority fixed for 2026-27), and the Management Seats Fees row prints 'upto 3* times' — Rs 7,05,000 for the year — with Rs 25,000 caution money separate. That is the only printed management-quota price we have verified at any Mumbai MMS college.
What are the cutoffs for SIMSREE vs SIESCOMS?
Both run on the CAP merit lists, and the demand gap is enormous: SIMSREE's CAP closing percentiles sit at the very top of the state table (the open-category close has been near the 99th percentile in recent rounds), while SIESCOMS's CAP and institute-level rounds close far lower. Neither institute publishes a guaranteed floor — treat any exact number an agent quotes without the CET Cell document as unverified, and read the current year's official CAP allotment lists.
Which has better placements?
SIMSREE publishes outcome documents (its NIRF return and recruiter list are public) and its fee-to-outcome ratio is among the best in India — a Rs 69,000 year against a Churchgate brand. SIESCOMS markets 100% placements since inception but publishes no average or median salary table on the pages we opened — institute claims, not an audited report, so we print no figure. Ask SIESCOMS for its placement report and read it with our methodology guide.
My CET percentile is modest. What is the honest path?
SIMSREE is likely out of reach at a modest percentile — its seats are the most contested in the state CAP. The honest ladder: SIESCOMS through its CAP and institute-level rounds at the FRA-fixed fee (or its printed management-seat price, with eyes open about what 3x buys and what it does not), the other Mumbai MMS colleges in our city guide, or a second CET attempt. What the modest percentile never needs is an agent — both colleges publish their entire process.
