MAH MBA CET 2027: what is confirmed and what is expected

MAH MBA/MMS CET is Maharashtra’s own common entrance test, run by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, and it is the gate into the state’s Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for MBA and MMS programmes. As of 3 September 2026 — with cetcell.mahacet.org re-opened and read today — the CET Cell has published nothing about the 2027 exam; its notice list’s newest MBA/MMS milestone remains the 12 June 2026 second-attempt result, with the AY 2026-27 admission portal live alongside. What it has published is the full, completed 2026 cycle — and that cycle is the most reliable planning guide you have until the 2027 notice lands.

Who actually needs a MAH MBA CET score

Three groups, and they are not the same:

1. CAP candidates. The famous low-fee Maharashtra MMS/MBA seats — JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA and the affiliated-college network — are allotted through CAP, and MAH MBA CET is the CAP exam. Without it, those doors stay shut.
2. Institute-level and minority-quota candidates. Seats that colleges fill themselves in Maharashtra still operate inside the CET Cell’s published framework — our Maharashtra management-quota guide and institute-level quota explainer map exactly where CET fits.
3. PGDM candidates in Maharashtra. AICTE-approved standalone PGDM institutes must admit qualifiers of CAT, XAT, CMAT, ATMA, MAT, GMAT or a state CET, strictly on merit (Appendix-9, Approval Process Handbook). The 2026 cycle in detail: two attempts, objections, results

The 2026 cycle matters to a 2027 aspirant because it shows how the Cell actually behaves:

• Two attempts happened. The final schedule notice of 16 March 2026 fixed the first attempt for 6-8 April 2026; a public notice of 26 April 2026 then fixed a second attempt for 9 May 2026. A second attempt is a genuine second chance at the same admission year — not a separate cycle.
• Objections are formal and priced. After the first attempt, question papers, responses and answer keys were displayed from 2-4 May 2026, and each objection cost Rs 1,000, paid online, per the official grievance notice.
• Results came in June. The second-attempt result was declared on 12 June 2026, per the CET Cell’s notice list, and the scorecard sits in the candidate login.
• CAP runs on its own portal. For 2026-27, MBA/MMS CAP activity — merit lists, allotment, the information brochure — lives at mba2026.mahacet.org.in, with helplines 18004106363 and 7669861010 (10 AM-6 PM) printed on the portal.

One honest gap: the 2026 information brochure sits behind scripted buttons on the CAP portal that our tools could not open today, so we are not quoting the 2026 application fee from memory. When the 2027 brochure publishes, read the fee from it directly.

What a CET score cannot buy

A CET score is a key, not a seat. CAP allotments follow merit and options; institute-level seats follow published rules; and no score — high or low — converts into an exam-free or merit-free admission at any AICTE-approved institute. The agent versions of this exam (“we will manage the CET”, “seat confirmed against donation”) collapse the moment you read the Cell’s own notices, which is why we link the PDFs rather than summarise from memory. How to plan your 2027 attempt

On the confirmed 2026 pattern, a sensible plan looks like this: keep documents and category certificates ready by December 2026; watch cetcell.mahacet.org from January 2027 for the registration notice; treat the March-April window as your exam target; and if a second-attempt option appears again, treat it as insurance, not as the plan. If Maharashtra is one of several states on your list, compare the routes — KMAT Karnataka, TG ICET in Telangana and TANCET in Tamil Nadu each open a different state system.
