TG ICET MBA 2026: Final-Phase Counselling Dates, the Rs 1,200 Fee, and Who Qualifies

The final phase ran 17-25 August 2026 — the cycle is now closed

Telangana’s TG ICET is the state entrance test for MBA and MCA admissions, and its 2026 counselling ended with the final phase below. The first phase concluded earlier in August; the final phase ran on a tight, fully published window that closed on 25 August 2026. Every date below comes from the TGICET-2026 detailed notification hosted on the official counselling portal, tgicet.nic.in — not from an agent, not from a coaching-site rewrite.

The notification is blunt about the last row: if you do not report at the allotted college between 22 and 25 August 2026, the seat stands cancelled. Paying the fee online is not the same as showing up.

Who is eligible, in the notification’s own terms

Two conditions, straight from the document: you must have qualified in TGICET-2026, and you must have secured at least 50% aggregate in your degree examination — 45% if you belong to a reserved category.

There is also a narrow, officially recognised side door. Minority (Muslim or Christian) candidates who did not qualify or did not appear in TGICET-2026, but who meet the 50%/45% degree mark, may apply for leftover seats in minority colleges under the separate NQNA notification, once qualified candidates are exhausted. That notification is explicit that such admissions carry no fee reimbursement. If someone offers you a broader version of this route — any college, any category — they are selling something the document does not say.

What you actually pay, and to whom

• Counselling processing fee: Rs 600 (SC/ST) or Rs 1,200 (others), paid online — credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI. One payment, made through the counselling portal during basic-information submission.
• Tuition fee: paid only after provisional allotment, in the 22-24 August window, at the fee fixed for the allotted college. The portal carries the Honourable High Court’s orders on fees; the Telangana management-quota rules page covers how Category B fees are fixed and capped.

What there is not, anywhere in the notification, is a pay-for-preference mechanism. The processing fee buys verification of your certificates, not a rank.

How seats are actually distributed

The notification records the constitutional framework: 85% of seats in each course are reserved for local candidates of the Osmania University area, and 15% are unreserved, under the AP Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order 1974 as subsequently amended — the same structure the state has used for decades, applied per the current G.O. rules. Within that structure, allotment follows your TGICET rank, your category, and the options you froze. Nothing else moves a seat.

If you miss the final phase

Three honest possibilities:

1. Spot admissions. The notification stated that spot-admission guidelines for MBA and MCA in university and private unaided colleges would be placed on tgicet.nic.in on 24 August 2026. We checked on 24, 25 and 26 August: the portal would not load from our vantage on any of the three days, and the Internet Archive’s newest captures (homepage 2 November 2025; default.aspx 13 August 2026) predate the promised posting — so whether the guidelines were published remains unconfirmed, and the only place to check is the portal itself. Spot rounds are run by colleges for leftover seats, at published fees.
2. Next cycle. TGICET runs yearly; the 2027 notification will appear on tgicet.nic.in and on TGCHE’s channels, historically a few months before the exam.
3. A different state’s exam. If Telangana timing no longer works, KMAT Karnataka’s 2026 registration runs to 31 August, ATMA conducts multiple sessions a year, and MAH MBA CET opens its cycle early in the calendar year.

Red flags to ignore this week

Final-phase weeks attract the worst offers, because desperation peaks. Be suspicious of anyone who: quotes a “donation” on top of the published tuition fee; claims to freeze options on your behalf; promises a specific college before allotment; or asks for the Rs 1,200 processing fee to be paid to them rather than through the portal.
