SNAP 2026 Cut-offs: What Symbiosis Publishes — and What It Never Prints

SNAP 2026 cut-offs, official position: each programme's shortlist bar is calculated after the test and posted on institute sites; earlier quotes are invented.

The short answer

As of 2 October 2026, no Symbiosis institute publishes an advance SNAP cut-off. The official SNAP pages state each programme's shortlisting cut-off is calculated separately after the test, and category-wise merit and wait-list cut-offs appear on institute websites at result time. What exists today: the printed 50/10/40 final-merit formula, the Rs 2,550 per-attempt fee, and institute deadlines to 12 December 2026.

Every October, the same search spikes: “SNAP cut off 2026”. Here is the honest answer from the official pages, opened today, 2 October 2026: no Symbiosis institute publishes an advance SNAP cut-off — not SIBM Pune, not SCMHRD, not any of the 17 institutes admitting through SNAP 2026. What the university publishes instead is more useful, and it is all printed below.

The official position, verbatim

The SNAP exam-overview page, re-read today, states it in two sentences:

“The further admission process is conducted separately for each programme by each Institute. The cut-off for shortlisting is also calculated separately for each programme.”

And for what comes later: “Category-wise cut off for Merit List and Wait List will be displayed on the website of the respective Institutes. Wait list movement will depend upon the vacant seats.”

That is the whole truth of SNAP cut-offs. Each of the 32 M.B.A. programmes across 17 Symbiosis institutes (snaptest.org homepage, today) computes its own shortlist bar after the test, posts it on its own site at shortlist time, and posts category-wise merit and wait-list cut-offs after GE-PI. A number quoted as “the SNAP 2026 cut-off” before the 12 January 2027 result is a past year’s figure or an invented one.

What IS printed today — and worth more than a predicted percentile

The final-merit formula. SNAP score out of 60 scaled to 50 marks, Group Exercise 10, Personal Interaction 40 — total 100, printed on the overview page and reproduced on institute pages like SIBM Bengaluru’s. Half the final list is decided after the test, which is why a middling score with a strong GE-PI outperforms a strong score with a flat interview.

The fee. Rs 2,550 per SNAP attempt (up to three, best score counts, no normalisation) plus Rs 1,000 per programme registration — re-confirmed today on both SIBM Bengaluru’s and SCMHRD’s pages.

The calendar. Registration and payment close 25 November 2026; admit cards per session on 7/11/18 December; the three CBTs on 13, 19 and 26 December 2026; the result on 12 January 2027 — re-read on the important-dates page today.

The institute-level schedules. SIBM Bengaluru prints the fullest one, re-read today: institute registration closes 12 December 2026 (before the result), shortlist announced 19 January 2027, GE-PI call letter 25 January, GE-PI across 4-6 and 9-13 February 2027, first merit list 10 March 2027, fees by 29 March. SCMHRD prints its own application close of 12 December 2026 and shortlist declaration of 21 January 2027, with GE-PI slot booking 21-24 January. Institute deadlines differ — several close before the result arrives — so the registration calendar matters more than any predicted cut-off.

Why the cut-off tables on other sites are history or invention

Because the official bar is computed per programme, per year, after the test, the only numbers that exist in October are past cycles’ shortlists — and those move with each year’s applicant pool. A page showing “SIBM Pune SNAP cut-off 98.5” is showing you a previous January’s shortlist, re-labelled. This site’s rule is stricter: we print nothing we cannot source to an official page opened the same day. That is why this page gives you the formula, the dates and the deadlines — and no invented percentiles.

What this means if your score is modest

Three printed levers, no prophecy required. First, three attempts, best score counts — a bad December 13 does not end the cycle. Second, the 50/10/40 formula — GE-PI preparation is worth half the final list. Third, programme choice — 32 programmes across 17 institutes calculate 32 separate bars, and the specialist campuses’ bars are not SIBM Pune’s bar. What does not exist is an exam-free door: SCMHRD’s page states no candidate can seek admission without a valid SNAP score, and SIU’s caution notice warns that admission is strictly on merit, that no donation or capitation is charged, and that using an agent can get an applicant debarred. (Six campuses do print a Discretionary Quota at double the open-category fee — mapped on our Symbiosis Discretionary Quota page — but their own fee pages require good entrance scores for it. It is a payment tier inside the merit process, not a rescue for a no-score candidate.)

The shortlist calendar to actually plan around

  • 25 November 2026 — SNAP registration and payment close (Rs 2,550 per attempt)
  • 12 December 2026 — SIBM Bengaluru and SCMHRD institute registrations close (Rs 1,000 per programme) — before the result
  • 13 / 19 / 26 December 2026 — the three SNAP CBTs, 60 minutes each
  • 12 January 2027 — SNAP result
  • 19-21 January 2027 — institute shortlists begin posting (SIBM Bengaluru 19 January, SCMHRD 21 January, printed)
  • February 2027 — GE-PI rounds at each institute
  • March 2027 — first merit lists (SIBM Bengaluru prints 10 March), then category-wise cut-offs and wait-list movement on institute sites

Plan to those dates, from the institutes’ own pages — and treat any site selling certainty about a January number in October as marketing, not information.

Straight answers

What is the SNAP 2026 cut-off for SIBM Pune or SCMHRD?
Not published — by anyone official, anywhere, as of 2 October 2026. The official SNAP overview page states that the cut-off for shortlisting is calculated separately for each programme after the test, and that category-wise merit-list and wait-list cut-offs are displayed on the institutes' own websites at result time. SIBM Pune and SCMHRD will post theirs around the shortlist window in January 2027 — SCMHRD has printed its shortlist declaration date as 21 January 2027. Any number quoted as this year's cut-off before then is history, estimation or invention.
Does SNAP publish one common cut-off for all Symbiosis colleges?
No. The official position is explicit: the further admission process runs separately for each programme at each institute, and the shortlisting cut-off is calculated separately for each programme. A score that shortlists you for one campus's MBA may not shortlist you for another's — the same 60-mark SNAP paper feeds 32 programmes across 17 institutes this cycle, each with its own bar.
What DOES Symbiosis publish in advance?
More than most candidates use. Printed today: the final-merit formula — SNAP score out of 60 scaled to 50 marks, Group Exercise 10, Personal Interaction 40, total 100; the fee — Rs 2,550 per SNAP attempt plus Rs 1,000 per programme registration; the full calendar — registration to 25 November 2026, tests 13/19/26 December, result 12 January 2027; and institute-level schedules, like SIBM Bengaluru's complete run from institute registration (closes 12 December 2026) through shortlist (19 January 2027), GE-PI (4-6 and 9-13 February 2027) to the first merit list (10 March 2027).
When are SNAP cut-offs actually released?
In two waves, both after the 12 January 2027 result. First, each institute calculates and posts its GE-PI shortlist — SIBM Bengaluru has printed 19 January 2027, SCMHRD 21 January 2027. Then, after GE-PI closes, each institute posts the category-wise merit-list and wait-list cut-offs on its own website — SIBM Bengaluru's first merit list is printed for 10 March 2027. Wait-list movement then depends on vacant seats, per the official overview page.
My SNAP percentile is low. Is there a back door into a Symbiosis MBA?
No exam-free door exists: SCMHRD's own page states no candidate can seek admission to its MBA programmes without a valid SNAP score, and SIU's caution notice warns that admissions are strictly on merit with no donation or capitation — an applicant using an agent can be debarred. The realistic levers are the printed ones: three SNAP attempts with the best score counting, the 50% of the final list that is decided after the test (GE 10 + PI 40 of 100), and programme choice across 17 institutes whose bars differ. Six campuses do print a Discretionary Quota at double the open-category fee — but it still requires good entrance scores, per their own fee pages.
Why do other websites show SNAP 2026 cut-off tables?
They are showing you history dressed as prophecy. Because the official cut-off is calculated per programme after each year's test, the only numbers that exist before January 2027 are past years' shortlists — which move every cycle with the applicant pool. Our rule on this site is that we print nothing we cannot source to a page opened on the day, which is why this page carries the official position, the printed formula and the dated institute calendars, and no invented percentiles.
