Selection process
- Take CAT 2025 with a positive score in every section and clear the printed cut-offs: General 70/70/70 with 95 overall; EWS and NC-OBC 55/55/55 with 85; SC 40/40/40 with 65; ST 30/30/30 with 40; DAP 25/25/25 with 40.
- Watch for the institute's email and file its application form inside the window: applications went live 10 January 2026 and shortlisted-candidate forms closed 28 January 2026 (11:59 pm). This registration is a pre-interview requirement, not a shortlist.

Is there a management quota here?
No. IIM Nagpur's published process is a CAT screen, a printed scoring formula and an interview — and the policy closes the loop explicitly: offers come only from the institute's admissions mailbox, the admissions office 'does not authorise any other individual or organisation to manage MBA admissions on its behalf', and attempted admission through fraud is an immediate disqualification. Nothing on the official pages opened on 10 September 2026 shows any management, NRI or paid channel.

What should an applicant plan for?
The gate is CAT 2025 at 95 overall with 70 sectionals for General candidates (EWS and NC-OBC 85, SC 65, ST and DAP 40), positive sectionals mandatory. Clearing it triggers an email and a short application window — 10 to 28 January 2026 — that is easy to miss and ends the candidature. The batch is 340 seats with the category matrix printed: General 120, NC-OBC 92, SC 51, EWS 34, ST 26, DAP 17.
Between the gate and the offer sit two printed scores. Stage 2’s Shortlisting Score draws on rating grids that convert Class 10, 12 and graduation percentages to 1-10 points and work experience to a curve that peaks at 18-24 months and scores zero from 36 months — a policy that quietly favours early-career applicants over senior ones. Stage 3’s Final Score is the formula above. Note what is absent: the 2026-28 policy never mentions CAP — Nagpur runs its own process this cycle, which is why it does not appear in the CAP 2026 member list.
