SIBM Noida vs BIMTECH: Two NCR Doors, One SNAP-Only, One Everything-Door

SIBM Noida vs BIMTECH Greater Noida: SNAP-only 60 seats at Rs 17.88-18.80 lakh against four PGDM programmes at a flat Rs 14 lakh, CAT/XAT/GMAT/CMAT, 480 seats.

The short answer

As of 4 October 2026, SIBM Noida's SNAP-only MBA prints 60 seats and two fee tables (Rs 9,40,000 and Rs 8,94,000 a year) against BIMTECH's four PGDM programmes at a printed Rs 14,00,000 full course across 480 seats on CAT, XAT, GMAT or CMAT. BIMTECH's 45 no-score supernumerary seats are reserved for PIO, foreign, Gulf and OCI applicants — not an Indian quota.

Fifteen minutes apart in the NCR, two completely different admission philosophies. SIBM Noida is the 60-seat Symbiosis boutique: SNAP-only, two printed fee tables at Rs 17.88 and Rs 18.80 lakh. BIMTECH is the 480-seat Birla machine: four PGDM programmes at one flat printed Rs 14,00,000, on CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT — and MAT for two of them. Both official pages were re-read today, 4 October 2026.

One label to keep honest: SIBM Noida prints its two fee tables side by side with no label saying which programme or category each governs. We carry both with that advisory — get the institute’s written confirmation of your table before treating either figure as final.

The supernumerary question, answered precisely

BIMTECH’s admissions page prints a line that gets abused in agent WhatsApp forwards, so here it is exactly: 45 supernumerary seats, reserved for People of Indian Origin, Foreign Nationals, International/SAARC Nationals, Gulf-quota and OCI applicants, at the same Rs 14,00,000 fee, with no CAT/XAT/GMAT/MAT/CMAT score required. Read it the way the page means it: an international-status channel with no premium, sitting beside a merit route that keeps its tests and its PI-plus-extempore for everyone else. It is not an Indian management quota — and BIMTECH’s own published warning calls direct-admission and broker claims fraudulent. If someone offers you one of these 45 seats as an Indian resident, they are selling a status you do not hold.

SIBM Noida’s side is equally plain: no discretionary-quota line anywhere on its pages, and SIU’s caution notice — reprinted on the fee page itself — states admission is strictly on merit, no capitation fee is charged, no agent is authorised, and candidates who deal with such agents face permanent debarment from every Symbiosis programme.

Boutique or machine

SIBM Noida’s case is focus. Sixty seats, the Symbiosis brand, a full 2027-29 calendar already printed (GE-PI across two February windows, first merit list 8 March, commencement 8 June 2027), and an official Placement Report MBA 2024-26: highest Rs 19.72 LPA, mean Rs 8.6, median Rs 9.5, 40 companies. The median above the mean says the typical outcome beats the pulled-down average — a small cohort with a visible floor.

BIMTECH’s case is width. Four programmes (flagship, International Business, Insurance Business Management, Retail Management), 480 seats, AICTE approval, NBA accreditation, AIU MBA equivalence, a residential campus, and an exam menu that lets a CAT, XAT, GMAT, CMAT or MAT score walk in. The flagship’s 300+45 shape means the institute fills a real cohort — selection is genuine, but the door is statistically wider than a 60-seat room.

Who should pick which

  • Pick SIBM Noida if the Symbiosis ecosystem and a 60-person cohort fit your plan, you are writing SNAP anyway (best of three December attempts), and you can live with the Rs 3.9-4.8 lakh premium for the brand on the degree.
  • Pick BIMTECH if you want the cheaper printed bill, the wider exam door (MAT included for Insurance and Retail), or the insurance/retail specialisations that SIBM Noida does not run — and you are comfortable with the larger batch.
  • Either way — file both if the exams overlap your calendar; the forms run on different tests and different clocks. And the shared truth: neither institute sells a seat. BIMTECH prints the warning, SIBM Noida reprints SIU’s. An agent promising an NCR seat for money is selling fraud against both pages, opened today.

Straight answers

Which is cheaper, SIBM Noida or BIMTECH?
BIMTECH, on the pages re-read 4 October 2026: a flat printed Rs 14,00,000 for the full course across all four PGDM programmes, against SIBM Noida's two printed tables of Rs 17,88,000 and Rs 18,80,000 across four instalments (plus a Rs 20,000 deposit). The gap is roughly Rs 3.9-4.8 lakh before hostel and mess, which both schools bill separately. One caution: SIBM Noida prints two unlabelled fee tables side by side — confirm in writing which table governs your programme before banking on either figure.
What exams does each accept?
SIBM Noida is SNAP-only — the December SNAP is the single door, with the institute's own form closing 15 January 2027, three days after the SNAP result. BIMTECH is the everything-door: CAT 2026, XAT 2027, GMAT (2025/2026-27) or CMAT 2027 for the flagship PGDM and International Business, with MAT 2026-27 additionally accepted for the Insurance and Retail programmes — then a personal interview and extempore for every route.
Does BIMTECH have a management quota?
No — and its own page draws the boundary precisely. BIMTECH prints a supernumerary category of 45 seats reserved for PIO, Foreign National, International, SAARC, Gulf-quota and OCI applicants at the SAME Rs 14,00,000 fee, for which no entrance score is required — an international-status channel, not a paid Indian route. For regular Indian applicants the only door is a recognised test plus PI and extempore, and the institute's published warning calls direct-admission and broker claims fraudulent. Anyone re-labelling the supernumerary category as an 'Indian management seat' is misreading the page on purpose.
Is there a quota route at SIBM Noida?
None is printed. SIBM Noida's pages carry no discretionary-quota or management-seat line (unlike six Symbiosis sibling campuses that print the 2x rule), and the fee page itself reproduces SIU's caution notice: admission strictly on merit through the prescribed tests, no capitation fee, no authorised agents, and candidates dealing with such agents face permanent debarment. The 60 seats fill through SNAP and the printed GE-PI calendar.
How do batch sizes and placements compare?
SIBM Noida is the boutique: 60 seats (reservation framework printed, 2 Kashmiri-Migrant and 15% international above), with an official Placement Report MBA 2024-26 reading highest Rs 19.72 LPA, mean Rs 8.6, median Rs 9.5 across 40 companies. BIMTECH is the machine: 480 seats across four programmes (300+45 flagship, 60 each in IB, Insurance and Retail), AICTE approved, NBA accredited, with AIU equivalence to the MBA degree; its placement figures live on the placements pages — read the current brochure there before treating any portal average as evidence.
Which should a low-score candidate prefer?
Neither rescues a no-score profile — but they fail differently. BIMTECH's MAT acceptance on two programmes and its 480-seat size make it the statistically wider door for a modest CAT/XAT/MAT score. SIBM Noida's 60 seats make it the tighter door, but SNAP's best-of-three format lets you re-attempt inside December. The honest plan for a weak-score candidate: write both SNAP and one of CAT/XAT/MAT, file both institutes, and treat the supernumerary 45 at BIMTECH as irrelevant unless you genuinely hold PIO/OCI/Gulf status.
