XIME Bangalore vs Kochi vs Chennai PGDM: The Rs 3 Lakh Campus Gap
XIME's three PGDM campuses from one official fee page: Bangalore Rs 12,90,000 against Kochi and Chennai at Rs 9,90,000 each, 240/150/150 seats, KMAT for Kochi alone and TANCET for Chennai alone. Verified 25 September 2026.
The short answer
As of 25 September 2026, XIME's official fee page prints one centralised PGDM with two price tiers: Bangalore at Rs 12,90,000 (240 seats) and Kochi and Chennai at Rs 9,90,000 each (150 seats apiece, about 540 total). One Rs 2,000 application covers all three campuses; hostel is compulsory everywhere and charged separately.
XIME runs one PGDM across three cities and prices it two ways. The official fee page, opened 25 September 2026, prints the whole system on one table — and the table’s headline is a Rs 3,00,000 gap between Bangalore and the other two campuses for the same degree, same application and same selection weights.
The fee table, from the official page
| Printed item | Bangalore | Kochi | Chennai |
|---|---|---|---|
| Programme fee (two years) | Rs 12,90,000 | Rs 9,90,000 | Rs 9,90,000 |
| Year 1 (three instalments) | Rs 6,70,000 | Rs 5,20,000 | Rs 5,20,000 |
| Year 2 (three instalments) | Rs 6,20,000 | Rs 4,70,000 | Rs 4,70,000 |
| Intake (fee-page FAQ) | 240 seats | 150 seats | 150 seats |
| Campus-only exam | — | KMAT | TANCET |
| Common exams | XAT, CAT, GMAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA | same | same |
Deposits are common: a Rs 25,000 one-time refundable caution deposit at admission and a Rs 10,000 refundable hostel deposit, returned at the end of the programme after dues. Hostel runs Rs 12,000-16,000 a month for ten months a year including mess — so budget roughly Rs 2.4-3.2 lakh across two years on top of whichever campus fee you pay, and remember the programme is fully residential at all three campuses.
One application, three prices
The process is centralised by design: one online form at admissions.xime.org (Rs 2,000), with each additional campus preference at Rs 250. XIME prints its selection weights for every campus: admission-test score 35%, group discussion and interview 40%, academic performance 13%, extracurriculars/diversity/work experience 12%. Nothing in the printed process lets a campus charge differently for a different route — the price tiers are campus economics, not entry tiers.
That is the honest framing an agent will not give you: paying Bangalore’s extra Rs 3 lakh buys the Bangalore campus and its catchment, not a different or “better” PGDM. If your score is MAT or ATMA, all three campuses stay open; if your score is KMAT you are looking at Kochi, and TANCET at Chennai.
The waiver and scholarship layer
Two printed concessions apply across the system. The Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW-2027): parental income under Rs 8 lakh from all sources qualifies, the waiver applies to tuition only with income proof required. And a scholarship pool the fee page values at Rs 90 lakh-plus — the Prof. J Philip Scholarship, the XIME President Scholarship offered at each campus, and named memorial scholarships. A waived-tuition Kochi or Chennai seat is the cheapest printed route into this system; check the income line before you assume the sticker price is your price.
What we still do not print
XIME’s fee page does not publish campus-wise placement tables — no campus-level average or median package prints on the pages we opened. Until a campus publishes its own audited numbers, treat any “XIME Bangalore average package” figure on an aggregator as unsourced. Our placement-report methodology explains exactly what to ask the institute for — and the Bangalore, Kochi and Chennai profiles carry each campus’s individually verified facts.
How to choose
Pick by budget and exam, in that order. If the national-score door is open and the budget line is tight, Kochi and Chennai deliver the same printed PGDM at Rs 3 lakh less with a TFW route that can take tuition to zero at the income line. If Bangalore’s recruiter catchment or the PGDM-Business Analytics variant (Bangalore only) matters, the premium is the price of the campus, not the degree. And at every campus, the printed process is the only process — there is no quota line anywhere in the system.

- Which XIME campus is cheapest?
- Kochi and Chennai, tied: both print Rs 9,90,000 across two years — Year 1 Rs 5,20,000, Year 2 Rs 4,70,000, each payable in three instalments. Bangalore prints Rs 12,90,000 (Year 1 Rs 6,70,000, Year 2 Rs 6,20,000). The gap is Rs 3,00,000 for the same PGDM degree family, the same centralised application and the same selection weights.
- Can one application cover all three campuses?
- Yes. XIME's process is centralised: apply online at admissions.xime.org for Rs 2,000, and add each additional campus preference for Rs 250. Selection standards, academic quality and the student experience are described by XIME as common across campuses.
- Does the accepted exam change by campus?
- Yes, in one line each: XAT, CAT, GMAT, CMAT, MAT and ATMA are valid everywhere; KMAT is accepted for Kochi only, and TANCET for Chennai only. A state-exam score therefore locks you to one campus, while any national score keeps all three open.
- How many seats does each XIME campus have?
- About 540 PGDM students a year across the three campuses, per the official fee page's FAQ: Bangalore 240, Kochi 150 and Chennai 150. The PGDM-Business Analytics variant runs at Bangalore alone.
- Is hostel compulsory at every XIME campus?
- Yes — the PGDM is fully residential at all three campuses, with separate hostels for men and women. Hostel fees run Rs 12,000-16,000 a month for ten months a year (lodging, mess and overheads), with a Rs 10,000 refundable hostel deposit beside the Rs 25,000 admission caution deposit.
- Is there a management quota at any XIME campus?
- No quota percentage or paid bypass is published for any campus. One printed process — exam score, centralised application, selection rounds with published weights (test 35%, GD and interview 40%, academics 13%, extracurriculars 12%) — governs all three. Anyone selling a XIME 'quota seat' contradicts the institute's own pages.
