The short answer

As of 11 September 2026, the printed IIM scholarship map is wider than most families assume: IIM Nagpur awards twenty full two-year tuition waivers, IIM Kashipur gives 10% of the batch a full yearly tuition waiver, IIM Trichy's AFWS halves academic fees for 2% of registrants, IIM Amritsar pays full-tuition-year scholarships to CGPA toppers, and IIM Udaipur waives tuition under a Rs 6,00,000 income line.

The IIM fee table looks monolithic until you read the scholarship clauses printed beside it. Seven of the twenty IIMs we track publish waiver schemes with real numbers — and two of them can take the tuition line to zero. This map lists only what is in print on institute pages re-opened on 11 September 2026.

The full-waiver tier

IIM Nagpur prints the largest commitment: twenty scholarships per batch, each a complete tuition-fee waiver for both years — ten Merit Scholarships for candidates at or above the 95th CAT percentile, and ten Need-cum-Merit Scholarships for family income below Rs 8 lakh, awarded through an internal process in the first year.
IIM Kashipur prints that 10% of MBA participants receive a full yearly tuition waiver across three named schemes — need-based, merit-based and need-cum-merit — beside the Government of India top-class schemes.
IIM Amritsar awards scholarships equal to the full tuition fee for the year: to the highest CGPA in each of MBA, MBA-BA and MBA-HR at the end of both years, plus the top four students from a combined CGPA list excluding earlier winners, with a buffer amount reserved in addition.

The partial-waiver tier

IIM Tiruchirappalli’s Academic Fee Waiver Scheme (AFWS), running since AY 2025-26, grants a 50% waiver of academic fees to financially needy students, applicable to 2% of the students registering for PGPM and PGPM-HR.
IIM Udaipur grants need-based tuition waivers to admitted students below a Rs 6,00,000 annual household-income line, with the amount set by an assessment of need; others with demonstrated severe difficulty may also apply.
IIM Bangalore runs its published financial-aid ladder — need-based aid scored on family finances, renewal for first-year recipients in the top 25% of the batch, and the National Scholarship for Higher Education for meritorious SC students covering tuition.

The portal tier

IIM Sirmaur prints the quietest honest answer: enrolled students apply for National Scholarship Portal schemes (scholarships.gov.in), subject to each scheme’s norms, with the institute’s Scholarship Office guiding the process. Most other IIMs route SC/ST/OBC/minority and disability schemes the same way — the portal, not the campus, is the channel.

How to use this map

Budget on the gross printed fee — then treat every waiver as upside, because each one above is competitive, assessed after admission, or both. Two cautions worth printing plainly: no IIM scholarship is arranged by an outside agent, and none covers hostel, mess or deposits unless the document says so.
