IIM Rohtak vs IIM Kashipur: The Flat 97 Against the JAP Reference

The highest flat bar in the young-IIM series against a joint-process partner whose own table is a reference, not a promise. IIM Rohtak asks a flat 97 from General candidates — no concession beneath it — and scores its final 60/20/20. IIM Kashipur admits through JAP 2026 and prints its CAT-2024 table (General 95 with 75 sectionals) only as a reference under a ‘to be updated’ note. Rohtak’s policy and fee PDFs were re-read today, 19 October 2026, through an extraction mirror — the institute’s website was unreachable from our vantage — and Kashipur’s admission page was re-read directly. Rohtak prints Rs 17,90,000; Kashipur prints Rs 20,80,000 with a tenth of the batch on full tuition waivers.

The contrast is in what you can read. Rohtak prints the whole machine — bar, stages, formula, seats, refund rule — in one policy PDF. Kashipur prints its fee to the rupee and its waiver net, then points you at the joint process for the operative bar: the 95/75 table is last cycle’s reference, and the page says so itself.

The formulas: the diversity-weighted solo against the joint read

Rohtak’s final runs 60/20/20: CAT percentile 60%, Personal Interview 20%, and 20% for academic and gender diversity combined — the heaviest printed diversity block in the IIM series, chosen explicitly to balance the class. Registration ran 26 December 2025 to 9 January 2026 at Rs 3,095; offers go out only from the institute’s admission mailbox.

Kashipur’s read is the JAP 2026 common policy: a Final Score out of 150 across the CAT index, PI, Class X and XII marks, work experience and diversity lines, shared by the four partner campuses. Kashipur’s own page adds the institute layer: the reference table, the fee, and the waiver net — and carries the anti-fraud disclaimer in plain sight.

The bills: Rs 2.9 lakh apart before the waiver net

Rohtak prints Rs 17,90,000 for the two years — Rs 3,55,000 + 2,70,000 + 2,70,000 each year — with mess at Rs 48,000 a year outside, plus placement facility Rs 40,000, development Rs 10,000 a year, alumni Rs 6,500 and a refundable Rs 10,000 caution.

Kashipur prints Rs 20,80,000 all-in — admission Rs 25,000, course Rs 20,46,000, caution Rs 9,000 inside — with Term-1 at Rs 3,70,000 due 25 September 2026 and no mess line printed. The counterweight: 10% of MBA participants receive a full yearly tuition waiver, the only printed full-tuition net in this pair. Plan for the full Rs 20,80,000; treat the waiver as upside earned after arrival, not a discount to assume.

The quota question, answered from print

Neither institute prints any management, institutional or discretionary route — no IIM does. Rohtak’s policy names its single official mailbox and the reservation framework; Kashipur’s page prints the anti-fraud disclaimer verbatim. An agent quoting a priced seat at either campus is selling the thing those sentences name.

Who should pick which

• Pick Rohtak if you clear the flat 97, want the lighter Rs 17,90,000 print, and prefer a fully published solo formula — read its documents on the mirror days and the official site when it serves.
• Pick Kashipur if your percentile sits at 95-96 (the reference bar, pending the JAP update), you want the joint-process convenience of one PI for four IIMs, or the 10%-of-batch waiver net matters to the family’s plan.
• Either way — Kashipur’s route runs through the JAP 2026 portal; Rohtak’s through its own five stages. The institutes’ own pages carry the operative dates; no third party does.
